Een imploderend Rusland is geen reden om ons onderwijs en pensioen op te offeren. Ik ben niet principieel tegen meer geld naar defensie in deze tijd, maar het mag niet ten koste van sociale rechten gaan zoals nu het geval is.

Or wordt meer dan een miljard bezuinigd op onderwijs, want er zou niet genoeg geld zijn (is er wel, maar men wil de PVVD-donateurs ontzien), pensioen moet omhoog want niet genoeg geld ... maar voor een EU-leger zijn er opeens miljarden!

As for the first statement, I think the "that's why" is misplaced. Austria has a high threshold of 4% and has had more governments with the far-right than the Netherlands.

Given the misplaced superiority with which you "invite" other to "learn", instead of engaging with the arguments, it is highly unlikely that you actually want others to learn. You could also try to formulate arguments instead of the vague recommendation to "learn": I am always pleased to learn.

In the Netherlands there has never been a threshold. It has been a florishing democracy for decades. A high threshold is unnecessary and undemocratic.

Before the AfD it was already naive to imagine that a threshold protects against Nazism. But after experience, knowing that Austria and Turkey had fascists despite a high threshold, and Germany has now 20% Nazis, this clearly shows that the imagined benefit does not exist.

While I disagree politically with BSW and the FDP, the 5% threshold is an anti-democratic and absurd rule. The absurdity is clear in this situation. These people deserve to be represented. 10% in Turkey was even more ridiculous.
