btw you can generate vertex color procedurally in geonodes and read it in a ucupaint mask this is also viable for gamedev if you keep mesh subdivisions reasonably low

Flow was made entirely with Blender and rendered in real time with EEVEE. We didn't use a renderfarm. The final render was done on my PC. There was no compositing, all the colors were tweaked and adjusted using shaders.
