Happy 2025 #gamedev! I have a tradition where I post about what I did the past year. Here it is: zanzlanz.com/n/101 I brought back "Mine Blocks 2", got a new apartment & computer, and learned new Blender skills. It was a great year, and 2025 will be even better! Wishing you all the very BEST! ❤️

My music "Hexagon and On" was used in this #GeometryDash level ("Hexagonestestestest" by Enlightenment)! It's a sweet tribute to Super Hexagon, but by golly my eyes are still spinning! www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jg-... #chiptune (My own time to beat is: 1h6m25s, 168 deaths)

My GitHub summary, over-analyzed! Reply-post your charts, #gamedev programmers! Just use postspark.app/github-contr...

I created a flash drive! It was fun making silly decals! All these assets will surely make sense together, right? :D #b3d

🧵1/3 - Here's my way to make a fence in #Blender! (I'm making an intro for the "Grumbler" video) 1. Add 3 simple Bezier points 2. Add vertical, horizontal, and diagonal array modifiers 3. Add 5 more Bezier points for the top part 4. Then do everything else!

When someone plays your game better than you or does something amazing with your game.. that's when they become the motivation, inspiration, and reason to #gamedev My target audience is myself, but my favorite part is when people turn my games into their creative outlet ❤️ ft. @strufel.bsky.social

This month I'm making a chiptune instrument! Well, I started this in 2017 and am finally wrapping it up: - It started in my own music making app (Dubnia) - I later made it an actual plugin with JUCE - I've now REMADE it as a legit VST3 with its own UI! It's my favorite #chiptune sound ever!

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for the 𝚜𝚞𝚗𝚔 𝚌𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚏𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚢! Without it, would I ever finish a project? (Says the same guy who's still working on games from 13 years ago 🦃)

This is greatest vibe I coded in a gif 🌅 Everything in this scene is reflective, and all the light comes from the sky color. (This is a voxel raytracer I made in Flash in 2016 haha) #creativecoding #vaporwave

Yikes, Bluesky heavily compresses audio?! Meaning: it makes it as loud as possible D: I intentionally made the background music very quiet on my last post (-20db), and now it's blaring lol Good thing to know!

I hid an entire mini-game in the main menu 🐔 I'm revealing it for the first time here! What's YOUR biggest easter egg, #gamedev? Come on, show us, don't be a chicken! ;)

Any #gamedev here also put *themselves* as an Easter Egg in their game? I asked what my livestream viewers wanted me to be doing in this secret room, and they agreed on "meowing"... alright (Game is "Alternate Reality Boss Fight": zanz.net/g/ARBF)

Throwback to when I made a music video with my own WebGL game 'engine'! :D MIDI channels trigger each of the elements on time. I learned how to code mirrors, anti-aliased shaders, and even portals. Super fun project, one of my favorites! Full video: youtu.be/CJK30mzQ0-w #indiedev #haxe

I've been really wanting to get back to NEW #gamedev. I've built up so much creative energy while porting 13 of my games from Flash to #Haxe the past 7 years. But gradually I'll be on new content, and dev will get super fun again :D Until then, most of my recent effort looks like this haha:

I see everyone's teleporting to Bluesky! Welcome! I'm a #gamedev. One of my projects is this dream-world imagined by @gflkpik.bsky.social (pixel artist!) and myself 🌌 #screenshotsaturday
