And within any other religious group! The problem isn’t God, or the religion itself, it’s what human beings do with that system of belief. Religions are like different kinds of guns; it can have great outcomes when used with genuine love, or it can be used as a hateful weapon of destruction.

Definitely a 5! I was quickly able to picture a kinda synthesized, rich, shiny, perfect and entirely red 3D apple on black « background ». Then, I thought this apple isn’t real, I just created it from my knowledge of what an apple is. So I instantly pictured a realer apple, as if it was a memory.

That’s true, but this legal action is regarding VOA : journalists providing based fact news to inhabitants of other countries, in which the news are controlled/censored.

My thought process while reading it : - Hate based voting instead of coming from an ideological place - Nihilist perception of politics - FAFO - Zero self-accountability (asking for help now) - Critical thinking is going extinct - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (Drinking the Kool-Aid as the drugs)

2/2 Maybe the future of sociology and political science is in adopting a more multidisciplinary approach, intersecting concepts, theories and methods from different disciplines in order to focus on a key area of study. For example : Urban Studies, Peace and conflict resolution, Gender Studies.

1/2 It sounds a bit like cultural studies, which is interdisciplinary. We also focus on that « world view » in religious studies (also interdisciplinary) and how beliefs and rituals (not necessarily religious) shape society regarding power structures, social phenomena and daily life.

Of course, there are everywhere, but I don’t see them invading all of the posts, reading hateful and stupid comments every minute. Elsewhere I see Russian bots, Russian bots everywhere!

« Telling them that they have no choice ». I was simply cutting corner because of the limitation on text length.

C’est informatif. Ce ne sont pas tous les canadiens qui s’informent vraiment des plateformes électorales autrement.

Live near Staples or a UPS Store? Buy something on Amazon & return it. That’ll cost them even more than a boycott.

Taking time to explain to everyone why you do this and also telling them they have no choice if they wanna keep in touch, is a protest. The only reason they win is because of the people who are afraid of any discomfort or effort. I told someone I was banned; it’s the only excuse they would accept!

I would say Meta first since they have the power of censorship! Also, lives don’t depend on their products… since users ARE THE PRODUCT. No product to sell, no buisiness. We can all switch to open source social media and to apps having a positive social impact, like Bluesky!
