On the same note, I just don't understand corps denying or restricted remote work (more and more recently)
Come on, the entire HR and Pay department is in Paris, half my team is either in the south or north of the country, every meeting is on teams and every server is in Ireland*

We had already left the company by this time for unrelated reasons, but it still itches me to this day.
It wasn't a big deal for me, as I was okay with it, and within walking distance of the place. (Not everyone was)
But it sure left a bitter taste of corporate fuck off

I wasn't remote at the time. We worked night shifts, on premises, every night.
We asked multiple times to be able to remote.
Managers did, Experts (DBAs ect) did, all our on-call were... But we couldn't, for many reasons
Suddenly COVID hits, and in a matter of 48h everything was ready!
