Man, what a whisk through time. I wrote about how my son missed the golden age of arcades for my old defunct fatherhood site years ago.

Oh I definitely want physical! I’m over 40 and am creating a a legacy of loved physical media for my family to deal with and inevitably box up while crying and cursing when I’m gone. Can’t do that with digital, kids.
Plus I like reading a real book in bed.

You might find that if you show interest and engage, it’s not as much a monologue, and the talks get shorter when you say things like “you mentioned that yesterday, did you find anything new and cool?” Or “I remember you saying sticky pistons do x, y, z. Did you make something cool with them?”

I never got why parents would post that about their kids. Look I get it, you’re not into Minecraft too, but you’re gonna miss the part about what their interests are or what real-life-thing you can connect to their experience. Plus, it’s your kid, man. TALK TO THEM. LOVE THEM. SHOW EXCITEMENT.
