It's hard -- really hard -- to write great children, who act and behave as real humans and not just caricatures. Like Huck or Holden, Mattie Ross is both hilarious and credible. Really felt like I was listening to a 14-yo, not just some middle aged writer pretending to talk like one. #booksky

I am no fan of the American healthcare system. My sister, mom, and I spent NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS a month on my father's end of life Parkinson's care. But this victim was murdered in open daylight on the street. I'm shocked at what people think is cute political statement when it's just deranged.

Reading should be a joy and not a chore. If you're not in the mood or can't find just the right book, it's okay to take a break. I've never been a constant reader. We all have our own unique relationship with books. And, books are always there when you're ready for them.
