Don't have any to download because I've never purchased any. Libby and my library card have always served my reading needs!

Obviously you shd read Tally's Corner by Liebow (fun fact: I lived 2 blocks north of this physical corner in DC ... 11 and M NE).
Other great one is Ghettoside by Jill Leovy, about LA not the Mid-Atlantic but many similar themes.
And for fiction, the GOAT of the genre, Clockers by Richard Price.

100% ... every time I spoil myself, I really regret it.
Another great one to go in cold ... Memory Police. One of my top reads of 2024, and I'm so glad I just bought it on a recommendation rather than reading anything about it.

I'm flying to Seoul in a few weeks because of your reporting. Trip will cost about $10 - $15k and I'm lucky to be able to afford that. Most adoptees can't.
We are owed reparations and an apology, but I expect neither will happen in my lifetime.

*Manhattan* ... you can def own and operate a car in many parts of the outer boroughs, many of which are practically suburban. Lower Manhattan does not equal NYC.

100% ... plus, this is *just* a tiny portion of NYC ... now Albany had BETTER do as promised and use this to fund the MTA, which is crumbling.

Felt a little colonial, plus one trick pony (diff POV storytelling but far shittier than sound and the fury or rashomon). My fav novels about the Congo are Heart of Darkness, Bend in the River. Fav non-fiction are King Leopold's Ghost and the end of Phil Gourevitch's book on Rwanda.

Content regulation only or also privacy? I thought this was helpful (at least to me) to understand algorithmic explainability under GDPR and how that intersects with DPIA requirements.

Sunnyside bike lanes are all protected. It's nice, but then the food delivery guys, idiot middle schoolers on electric citibikes, and the scooters feel so safe that they are far less aware of the pedestrians. We are almost getting run over all the time.
Turtles all the way down.
