Secret Service chasing 11-year-olds. They thought they were ICE, which would be horrific to have K-12 kids chased down by agents. No better that the truth was it was SS looking to get an 11-year-old who made anti-trump video. #worldnews #usnews amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/01/...

This.

“In 1960, John F. Kennedy lost the white college-educated vote by two to one and rode to the White House on the backs of the working class. With 3 kids at uni (ie we’re broke), I suggested we all do vintage Christmas - used gifts only. They were truly SO excited. I wish I’d thought of this years ago!

Unreciprocated Xmas cards allow me to feel an unhealthy, yet satisfying, sense of holiday superiority.

Seriously, how do I monetize that!😀

I have scoffed at those who’ve thrown up tinsel before turkey. But it hit me hard this morning, after all this shit, I need a little Christmas, right this very minute. And yes, Mame will be playing in the background when I set up the tree today.

It appears that introductions are in order here, which I love. Don’t know if this will ever be read, but putting it out there is enough. I am a wife, a mom, a friend, a writer, and a leader, in no particular order, depending on circumstance. I love the unfulfilled promise of America. I still hope.

Waking up on a Saturday to the sound of my husband walking our daughter through replacing a dead battery on her car while at uni. Strangely, hearing him discuss steps and tools and her successfully executing makes me feel nostalgic and grounded and happy. What is that? 😊

A movie quote example where you wish life imitated art. I’ll start… “Are not the satisfactions of being a good man among our common men enough to sustain us anymore?” -The Big Chill
