I lost access to my main account and I am an idiot and had used a different email because I didn’t think I’d stick here and well, I don’t remember the email or the password LOL. So this will be my main account now. I was @not-ur-mary.bsky.social

Behemoth were outfuckingstanding.

#NowPlaying Mark Morton - Without the Pain, 2025 Lamb of God this ain't. Cool and groovy this is.

#NowPlaying Rotting Christ - 35 Years of Evil Existence Live, 2025 Getting myself revved up for Saturday while I'm doing some gardening.

When your on-call cut off time passes and you can finally relax. Guinness Zero, still off the booze.

#NowPlaying Frantic Amber - Death Becomes Her, 2025 In fairness, I was expecting some sort of St. Anger style shenanigans with the band name, but I got some very nice all girl melodeath. Tidy.

#NowPlaying Buried Realm - The Dormant Darkness, 2025 Dear god... Another outstanding release from the insanely talented Josh Dummer with some choice guest artists.

#NowPlaying Warfield - With The Old Breed, 2025 Absolutely banging blackened thrash. What a way to start a Sunday morning!

#NowPlaying Allegaeon The Ossuary Lens, 2025 Initially I wasn't convinced, but it just got better and better. Insanely complex technical blackened prog death with some outrageous guitarwork. Pummelling.

#NowPlaying Benediction - Ravage of Empires, 2025 Take Bolt Thrower, Entombed, Lamb of God and Slayer, throw them into a big sack, shake them up and what pours out at the end will sound just like this. Banging.

My favourite book.

Why, in the name of all that is logical, did I pick up an extra shift on the morning the clocks went forward? 😭

#NowPlaying Colliding Worlds - This World Shall Fall, 2025 I know we all interpret things differently, but this really gets me thinking like if Vangelis did the Blade Runner soundtrack but got Opeth and Rotting Christ on board as collaborators. Wondrously cinematic death prog insanity.

#NowPlaying Lucifer's Child - The Illuminant, 2025 Since @kmanriffs.bsky.social is taking some well deserved downtime, it's left to me to research the new releases for #FFFMar28, so imagine my surprise going through this week's list with no idea where any of the bands are from or what genre they >

#NowPlaying URN - Demon Steel, 2025 I've listened to a lot of music over my very many years, but stuff still has the ability to surprise me. This is one of those moments. Imagine Venom, Amon Amarth and Iron Maiden met backstage at a festival and decided to collaborate on a thrash album. This is >

#NowPlaying Doomsday - Never Known Peace, 2025 Definitely more pure thrash than crossover, but still absolutely banging. Definitely got Power Trip vibes though. Excellent stuff.

#NowPlaying Crawling Chaos - Wyrd, 2025 Absolutely outrageous death metal, dripping with progressive nuance - stunning musicianship, crazy time changes, riffs for days and just so very off kilter - that never fails to surprise. A genuine spanker of an album.

If you like your music complex and proggy yet accessible, melodic and almost poppy, this may be the thing for you. Well listenable. @doctorleeds.bsky.social @marillion073.bsky.social

Now that is some seriously punishing death metal, and those vocals? FUUUUCCCCKKKK!

Noisy, doomy fun.

Seriously, how do you begin to categorise this insanity? Cowpunk, sludge, groove laden country metal through NYHC and back again. Utterly, brilliantly bonkers.

Is there anything quite like Polish death metal? Taking all the best bits from Behemoth, Vader and Decapitated and rolling it all up into a vicious, rotting ball of turbulent hate, this is absolutely killer. Throw it on the AOTY pile forthwith Jeeves, and fetch me my bullet belt...

Seventh album from a band I don't think I've heard of before, but whose previous work I'll definitely be checking out, such is the quality of their rather excellent melodeath. Killer guitars is always a clincher too. Tidy.

I know I bang on about black metal not being my thing, but there's some of it that's absofuckinglutely glorious, and this is exactly that. Atmospheric, miserable, tortured and darkly melodic. Wonderful stuff.

Absolutely killer Aussie thrash. You had a listen at this one yet @nigesavage.bsky.social?
