Cool so what happens if GOP attach a national abortion ban to a CR? You'll vote for that too? đźš®

Not for nothing but this is the echo of McConnell flinching when he had the opportunity to convict Trump on impeachment after J6, on the flawed supposition the Biden DOJ would do the job for him. Except Schumer doesn’t have the excuse that Trump is a member of his own party.

Cynthia Nixon ran against Cuomo for Governor of New York and lost because people were like haw haw Sex and the City Lady haw haw but has since been proven right about a while hell of a lot of stuff while Cuomo is considered a serious politician despite being a wrong headed loser creep

This is good. They should be mad. And Dem Senators should hear and see that anger before they decide how to vote.

All wings of the Democratic party have much more in common on policy than many in the press or on here want you to believe. Most of the Dems want to fight as well. This isn't an ideological debate we all need to stand united on this against bulltshit discourse trying to divide us

If you vote for this Republican Funding Bill, you are complicit in all that DOGE, President Elon, and Trump does.

there are a BUNCH of new representatives in swing districts for whom this is their first real fight as members of Congress and Schumer just made enemies of literally every one of them

tonight I just saw a brief glimpse of a future in which the New York machine, through Chuck Schumer's cowardice, has fucked up so hard that NYC-DSA actually wins the presidency

Yeah now is the time to deny unanimous consent at every step and go nuclear on anyone who votes for the CR. We gotta create the three-line whip

multiple times this article mentions that even some *centrist* House Dems are urging her to primary Schumer tonight

I won't credit Jeffries with much but you gotta credit him here for taking the extra step to leave Schumer publicly twisting in the wind.

No, this is a false choice. Pay creators, artists and rights-holders. When you do, that's STANDING to prosecute infringement by bad actors - including China. arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable. Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes. Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

listen to the future of this political party

Yea, like, I think what this shows, regardless of what happens, is that Schumer is not in control of his caucus and can't direct the narrative. He's got to go.

NEW from me - Tim Walz is headed back out on the road – this time, for a tour of House districts represented by Republicans who have stopped holding in-person town halls amid the raucous receptions some of their colleagues have gotten across the country. www.cnn.com/2025/03/12/p...

It rocks that this move was not actually a bluff tbh

This is like saying when MAGA did their Bud Light boycott it meant they hated beer. Just moronic.

Everyone really needs to understand how make or break this is for Elon. He's going to spend 20-25m easily.

you know between tesla stock cratering and twitter going down three times elon is having a Day and I for once love it

the way this tally is shaking out it looks like Senate Dems are currently planning to fold on the CR, so light up those phones

This is such an important point. The default position of Democratic leadership is to wait until public opinion shifts before acting. But if they leave a messaging vacuum, the right will gladly fill it and try to shift public opinion against Democrats.

i don’t say it lightly but i do earnestly believe the next dem must strip him of his citizenship and deport him, and also then cap income via a wealth tax so that there are no more elons

I know not everyone agrees with me that Zaslav WANTS this project to never actually materialize, but this is BEGGING the second* worst fandom on the planet to light up their torches, right?

So now that apparently we’re doing the whole is autism caused by vaccines scare mongering again (I’m Wakefield’s number two hater), I’m reposting my nib comic about autism and vaccines thenib.com/how-anti-vax...

He WHAT-

My "ELON AND MARCO HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP" T-shirt has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my shirt.

The Flow Oscar statue is exhibited at the Latvian National Museum of Art and people are waiting for more than an hour to see it!

Folks, try to keep a few things in mind: - Last year Trump won by the smallest popular vote victory margin in over fifty years. - Even amidst a nationwide rightward shift, Dems still overwhelmingly won downballot races in swing states. - Without Trump, the GOP has fucking NOTHING.

"DOGE can't induce a recession by itself!" Correct ...but it doesn't matter. NOBODY ASKS where a recession came from, only when/how it's going to STOP. If FoxBiz is already using the R-word, the first battle is already lost - Jeebus, this is going fast.

Trump take egg. Trump take chicken wing. Trump take McNugget

All I'm saying is that Pelosi wouldn't have let it get to ten defectors on a matter like this....

Cope acknowledged 🫡

a sincere thank you to the people and governments of Canada and Mexico for fucking our shit right up

it should tell you a lot about Cuomo that even the NYC establishment—which is terrible!—mostly does not want him back and is desperately trying to draft Adrienne Adams so that the moderate lane has a normal candidate running in it.

do they not understand that they're going to need a lot of lawyers or what

"Joni Ernst has an affair with a lobbyist" is...roughly what you need to put that seat squarely on the board, yeah

As long as I've been alive, even the MOST "Cut every service!" cold-hearted Republican knew better than to eschew the caveat of "Except VETERANS, they should get everything and more forever." It's a lay-up and *nobody* will challenge you.

Looks like 25% tariffs on everything, with one major exception: a 10% tariff on oil and gas, uranium, biofuels, coal, and other "critical minerals." They also keep the de minimis exception in place for now, but say once a system is developed to apply it (seems unlikely) it will be eliminated.
