Grab game pass for avowed, which was awesome, but decided to get my money's worth and try some other games. Immortals of Aveum: not bad, actually finished it. Atomfall: Difficulty was fucked, gave up after 2 hours. Starfield: Over a year later and they fixed zero jank. Gave up after 1 hour.

Finished Avowed. The early reviews/discourse really sold this game short; it's pretty much up there with Outer Worlds.

Busted my fucking ass the last few nights trying to get my local candidate elected and couldn't even manage that. On top of that this already bullshit election was a fucking disaster.

Getting real fucking sick of trying to search for apartments within my budget, only to find listing well outside it because it's matching on the bachelor price when I explicitly filtered by 2 bedroom. Whoever keeps building them this way needs to fucking die horribly.

Getting real sick of how often I need to use docker or some batshit sequence of package managers just to install a piece of softare on a server.

My brain is having a REAL hard time processing it's friday.

I swear to fucking god I can no longer tell if a given user on reddit is cripplingly dependent on ChatGPT to write every word for them, or if they're straight up bots trying to farm replies for more traning data. I need the textual version of that nightshade stuff, stat.

Me: yeah I don't understand deck-building video games, feels too complicated. Also me: *tries Inscyption on a whim, blacks out for 3 hours* DEFNINTELY not touching Balatro now. Shit's dangerous.

Client swears up and down there's barely any french content on the site to migrate. Post-launch, they're getting spammed with requests to restore dozens of missing french pages they apparently never knew exists.

Tried the Refantazio demo. Good fucking god I've never seen a game trip over itself so much with interruptions and cutscenes. I don't think I was in control for more than 5 seconds at a time.

Finally played Stray Gods over the weekend. Actually interested in trying a few more playthroughs. And god damn the worldbuilding on this is just fascinating.

You ever, like, get sorta interested in starting a project, start roughly sketch out the details, but uh... lose all motivation to do it after said sketch starts to come together?

"Apparently when you squeeze the beans it's called 'tamping'" "Is that what the kids are calling it these days?" #XANATS

Me: I should read up on whatever new CSS stuff I can use. 200 videos, many 2 years old: Here's all the nifty shit you can do with X new feature. Me: Oh fuck yeah, this'll make shit way easier. QA time: *doesn't work in Safari/Firefox* At this rate I'm gonna just go back to floats and clearfixes.

Desperately trying to switch to bluesky but it's haaaaard.

AI company: we trained this dog to talk. It doesn’t actually understand language, but it kinda sounds like it’s having a conversation by mimicking the sound of human speech. CEO: awesome, I’ve fired my entire staff, how quickly can it start diagnosing medical disorders

So I blew through Talos 2 over the weekend. Pretty fucking gobsmacked by it. That was the sequelest sequel I've ever played.

REALLY enjoying TP2 so far. However it's already undoing all the work BOTW/TOTK did in breaking my completionist habit.

Just finished Deliver us Mars. Definitely one of those "probably should've been a movie/miniseries" stories but definitely worth the... oh... 8 hour session.

Oh boy, just tried the Talos 2 demo, really needed to just dive into a new puzzler and it's a BEEFY demo.

Can I just go one week without Firefox breaking something of mine?

Shadow DOM is fucking weird

Something amiss with how I saw more of the people in my building today when we got new laundry machines, than when the fire alarm went off last year (false alarm, but still).

My development process on sites for work frequently features moments of "shit, this works well; I must now retrofit every unfinished project to use it now"

How you know Elon announced a new feature on Twitter

Can't believe I spent the weekend replaying a game that left me bitter by the end rather than, y'know, try one of the myriad I haven't started yet. Fuck sake I could've at least finished the last chapter of Citizen Sleeper but noooooo I have to experience some sort of novelty dysfunction.

Oh god I ran into that old client who apparently lives in my neighbourhood and keeps asking to grab coffee some time. I need to move.

Just finished Chants of Sennaar. Pulling my hair out that I couldn't confirm 3 of the glyphs but oh well. Really enjoyable game, I need to find more translation games after clicking with this and Heaven's Vault.

Bluesky seems to be slapping "translate this" prompts on the most random replies despite them being full english sentences with perfect spelling/grammar.

So I played Genesis Noir. Oh dear god that was the most frustrating point-and-click I've played yet, and it's the epitomy of "why didn't they just release this as a movie?"

Just found out about and tried the demo for Chants of Sennaar. Been looking for something to scratch that translation itch since Heaven's Vault.

You'd think after 10 fucking years I wouldn't still be able to throw my design coworkers for a loop by pointing out that X thing kinda falls apart on a wider screen.

Spent most of the day playing Immortality. Holy fuck that was an experience.
