Wishing you all the best, and what a stellar run at Wizards. Hope you won't be a stranger to the TTRPG world. May all your rolls be 20s!

Every sale helps us cover these completely blindsiding costs and keeps our artists funded for the next grim & perilous installment we’ve got cooking. Thanks for sticking with us through this madness: sllswrd.games/shop/ols/pro...

Behind the scenes, we’re building a war chest to weather the storm and keep this engine running. If you want to support what comes next, grab the ZWEIHANDER RPG Reforged Preorder PDF (and heck, some others as well) from our site.

Here’s what you need to know: We won’t impose surprise tariff charges on the Reforged Kickstarter, so backers are safe. But once those books hit distribution, prices are going to go up. We don’t have a choice.

I’ve been working with Rob over at Forbes to speak candidly about the impact this has on small publishers like ours, and what it means for the road ahead. Several publishers will be quoted in an upcoming article about the immediate and long-term impacts.

You can read the statement from Stonemaier, Steve Jackson Games, and GAMA to get a better sense of how it's impacting other parts of the board game and TTRPG sector.

If you are unaware of what's going on, American companies bear the tariffs once products arrive in port. Yes, that means we pay a 54% tariff to the United States government for products we've planned and made overseas.

PPS. WHY NO TARIFF ON RUSSIA? US and EU cannot import or export into Russia due to sanctions. But also, Trump and Putin are uncomfortably cozy.

PS. CHINA TARIFF IS ACTUALLY 54% To reconfirm those who are uncertain, these reciprocal tariffs STACK on top of existing tariffs. This means products from China have an actual tariff of 54%.

KICKSTARTERS/TIME TO GET INVOLVED For indie game developers and Kickstarter campaign managers unsure of what to do, I highly recommend getting involved with GAMA and industry association groups. This is when your voice is critical to hear.

POTENTIAL SOLUTION The future of production is highly uncertain, but one strong consideration for products already in production or ready to leave port is shipping them to Canada, then LTL/FTL into the US.

www.semafor.com/article/03/0... Hasbro /will/ train AI on their back catalog of D&D across the editions. The T&C of DM Guild is broad enough to allow Hasbro to train their AI engine on products sold on the platform.

Tell Hasbro what you think about them training their AI models on your Dungeons & Dragons DM Guild creations. Don't bother customer support or WotC employees who have no power to make change. Direct it to Hasbro PR. [email protected]

TTRPG books could learn from board games. Let's talk about it: sllswrd.games/home/f/ttrpg...

For Nocturne Gothic Horror OSR, we explicitly outline the game's focus and the responsibilities of the Narrator and the players. Short and snappy. This upfront approach eliminates ambiguity and allows for a smoother, more immediate start. Full article in the comments. (artist unknown)

What experience does the game wants players and GMs to have, how do you support its play style, and how to run it effectively?
comment in response to post
Many tabletop role-playing games lack a clear explanation of their core objectives and player roles. Often, players and budding Dungeon Masters must read the book cover to cover to understand the game's purpose.

This mechanic helps maintain consistent damage output across levels, creating a more balanced playing field for both player characters and monsters. (image artist unknown)

This means that if you roll the maximum value on a damage die (for example, a 4 on a 1D4 for a dagger), you roll the die again and add the result to the total damage.
