Speaking as a massage therapist, if she excuses herself for a brief moment and steps out of the room, it's because she's primal screaming into a pillow and you better hang on, bud, because you are in for some deep tissue work that will rearrange your fucking life.
Well, first question to ask is "How many hours of training did you receive?" Trust me...it's not offensive. From there, and I can't underscore this enough, communicate. Request more pressure. Or less. Really emphasize issues you are experiencing. Ask for explanation of what they're doing. If they
are good, they'll ask you what you want to achieve. I literally have a DT move that requires me to palpate deep enough to feel your organs move out of the way to do a lower back release. But yeah...COMMUNICATE.
One time a hot yoga instructor (type of class, not attractiveness level) asked me "what happened to you that you can't do this?". I felt bad that I ,in fact, had not been in an industrial accident of any type and was just not flexible.
