I never knew how much of a thorn in my side time zones were going to be when I started doing this. I have screwed up bookings far too many times because of time zones. It’s because you goobers insist on your “daylight savings” nonsense

I want a world without time zones. 10 o'clock in BC is the same as 10 o'clock in New Zealand! Sure, 10pm is morning in some places and evening in others, but no more time zone math!!
1947: Saskatchewan becomes first province with universal health care
1966: Sask stops changing clocks twice a year… same year the rest of the country finally adopts UHC…
What takes the rest of the country so long!?
Funnily enough, I think a majority of Canadians are against DST. It's the one thing I envy Saskatchewan for, it's pure nonsense to switch clocks for no reason other than tradition.
I have shown up to work late while working out of province. Everyone looked at me like I should have known. Like it was I who was wrong. It is they. The nonsense is simply not in our programming. Does not compute. Error.
I'd be happy to not deal with DST ever again. I'd also love for people to stop saying "PST" when they actually mean "PDT". I tried showing up an hour late to meetings but they didn't like that.
I just refuse to do time zones. I tell people from DST places they will need to figure out what time I’m to be in the meeting because time zones are dumb.
No, time zones make sense. It’s DST that is fucked. A common excuse is ‘we have to be on the same time as the US.’ What a load of crap. You Sask. folks seem to manage just fine thank you very much.
When I talk to my daughter in Switzerland at her dinner time (6pm and quite dark in winter) and it’s high noon at home, what time is it where my brother lives? More importantly, what time SHOULD it be in each of those places?
While it is definitely nonsense, I assure you that we do not insist on doing daylight savings.
No one actually wants to change their clocks and be crabby from losing an hour of sleep just so it can be a little bit brighter in the evenings while we all sit inside our homes anyway.
I think it's more than a little dense that there is legislation to STOP the time change. And if ever enacted it is to remain permanently on the "one hour ahead" scientists are totally warning against. Modern times, now with exactly the same intelligence as the dark ages.. maybe less.
One of the few things Kenney’s UCP could’ve done right was to end DST, but their referendum question was so obtuse that we’re still stuck with it. They didn’t even need to have a referendum, they could’ve just done it! Ugh…
TBF, we in Onterrible have made it well known to DohFo & others, it needs to be dealt with, but bike lanes & Therme get all his attention, as well as booze in corner stores. Priorities, eh..

And that’s how you got as mad as Alberta, politically.

Save my moonlight,
Don't forget to delight,
In the extra time,
And this extra rythme,
It is all completely sublime.
If I have to figure out time differences twice a year, that’s once a year too many times.
Granted, the variable time zones in NW Ontario was at least as annoying.
