It is such a beautiful, heartfelt piece. My son had a stroke when he was six and this took me back to the terror and confusion of those awful early days when no one says the right thing and the world seems dark and uncaring.

I thought it was exceptionally written, and as you say, so heartfelt. As I read I kept thinking “I hope they’re both having some serious therapy to deal with the trauma of that night” I can’t imagine what it must be like to perform CPR on your own child :(

Now there's a thing I am not sure I'm strong enough for, or ever would be, but then nobody ever knows.

I've just started my first ever treatment for the neuro stuff and it seems to be going ok, things are better and now I'm slightly afraid of turning back into one of *those*dickheads again.

I write for a living. I am unable to find the words to convey how I feel about that piece. I am weighed down by the emotion of it but (and it seems trivial) the writing is exquisite.

I don't want to offer sympathy or pity but to send that family love. Although they clearly have plenty of that xxx
