It’s interesting that many replies have singled out the Eames since Charles’ and Ray’s design process began with the human body rather than an aesthetic idea. After all art doesn’t have to solve a problem, just be the “artist’s” expression. How much of design is really art, not design?
This looks like the group of chairs my B I D students could choose from to do an analysis in Design Theory. Many of them were deemed unusable and should be regarded as art pieces rather than functional chairs.
