I actually agree. Modern frame, black border, and updated subtyping makes it look better. The only issue was not being printed in a reasonably-priced booster pack.
I give so much away and trade under value because they're game pieces and them sitting in a binder doing nothing is bad. If I miss them, I will buy new copies
Not denying this... But while the Rudy types eating it would be funny, your LGS would also likely get caught in the crossfire of the loss of confidence.
i am begging people to understand this lmao. it's cool and good when cards are played and not rotting in binders. they won't be worth the ink they're printed on.
Awesome so far
Did a parent teacher conference for my kiddo and now we're watching some YouTube to chill.....
I see a McDonalds playplace in my future tho... Gotta psyche myself up for it lol
Hows your day been mate?
I'd hope it's been awesome sofar 🤜🤛
honestly, I want something like the 30th but without reminder text - I've seen some really nice fullart proxies, but if it has to have a textbox, give me like a little lore blurb like the D&D basics
I appreciate your commitment to accessibility when it comes to cardboard. One of these offers way more in terms of discernable visual language, even to players who aren't super enfranchised.
30th Ed is more legible, accessible, and new-player friendly. OG candy striping is visually busy. The OG names in that typeface on brown are just harder to read than 30E. And the text…shorter is better. I get the nostalgia and status associated with OG printings. But graphic design? No competition.
Imagine if we could have both: take the alternating color box of the OG dual and have the reminder text in the take up only the middle of that center box
I'm in favour! Old border has never appealed to me, and is honestly why I didn't get into the game while I was still in school (limited cashflow non-withstanding).

Still very grudgy about how they did 30th edition, though.
The art is weirdly zoomed and out of focus
LIKE LOOK AT THE VASELINE TREATMENT CAMOUFLAGE GOT
I prefer it too
If they reprint true duals with modern frames/different art I don't think the price of A/B/R duals will devalue that much.
Which, from the perspective of someone who got into Magic relatively recently, would be funny.
That being said, #FucktheReservedList
Print the damn cards xD

The OG is dizzying, and the M30 is too generic to me.
(i am a firm believer in the candy stripes)
I wonder if there was a blue center in the cards back then too? 😍
I want more stripe-y text boxes
Imagine triomes??
Secret lair stripe-y text box reprints of newer cards when??
I slightly agree because I like cleaner looking cards.
I wish they'd done a borderless treatment tbh.
