He's put out a statement that is even more demoralizing for Canadians to have to read. He is the worst NDP leader of my life time and if anyone needs to go, it's him. What an awful human being.
What is he even thinking when he writes these awful things? He's done this before. He's certainly not thinking about Canadians who are fearful about what is coming now. He's not thinking about any of us at all.
I am a bit surprised. I honestly thought that his response would be classier, even under the inevitable calculus that this is an opportunity for the NDP to siphon off LPC votes. The content and tone of this might actually work against the NDP in that regard.
Nice try. The idiots will win, just like in the US. They are the majority. The media and govt can't say the majority are stupid, shitty people, but the next election will prove it. Parents and teachers need to raise better people. Shitty people need to have less kids.
That the NDP have been unable to leech support from a collapsing Liberal party is the ultimate condemnation. This era was custom made for their traditional message. Charlie's too humble to admit it, but the NDP sealed their fate when they chose Singh over Angus. Tragically, Angus is retiring.
Listening to Jagmeet Singh is like trying to listen to a Jill Stein voter in the U.S. justifying their vote. Full of self-righteousness but actually just a fool.
I don't think he cares. He just wants to live in Stornoway. Although with the current situation with the PM residence I suspect PP will keep it if he gets elected.
Does Jagmeet think he will win votes with his rhetoric? He has no chance to be PM. All he is doing is using CONservative talking points. Does he think this will endear him to the CONservatives if they win the next election? I would vote for May b4 Singh. At least she is honest #cdnpoli @ndp.ca #NDP
He is finished as well, history won't look favourably on the man the helped end Canadian democracy! I really think there has been an outside influence on his decision making because it makes no sense killing programs he helped pass!
No surprise. I have nothing nice to say about Jagmeet Singh so I will not say anything at all but I will not be voting NDP.
I will vote Liberal out of principle.
Singh left us high and dry without a Prime Minister facing a trade war by ourselves! I can't imagine ever giving this guy leadership power of the entire country. #SellOutSingh He sold out to the conservatives and to Trump.
Broke the supply agreement
Said he'd vote with Poilievre on non-confidence
Sabotaged Canada's negotiations in a trade attack from USA
He should be the one resigning. #TraitorSingh
We've come a long way from "My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world." Sure miss Jack these days.
Yeh Layton brought down a Liberal gov’t to undoing the national child care and the Kelowna Accords saddling us with 8 years of Harper
The NDP is quite capable of election gambling.
He can lose my consideration too, his choice. Hopefully the Liberals choose wisely. NDP need to follow the Liberals lead and get someone worth considering.
Jagmeet is an opportunist. He’s in it for himself and not for Canada. . He is truly classless and because of this he is the downfall of the NDP.
Shameful behaviour!
Why is it Singh's fault and not Trudeau's incompetence over the last 18 months? He could've, and should've, stepped down before he was forced out kick and screaming by his entire caucus.
But, as per usual, faux progressive-centrists blame the NDP for the LPCs failures.
Trudeau would throw Singh under the bus the first chance he gets. Trudeau has consistently thrown anyone left of centre under the bus to stay in power.
He promised a progressive government in 2015 and then spent the last 9 years running to the right. Good riddance.
Really frustrated with Jagmeet Singh. I was a huge supporter of his, but it really seems like his priorities and character has shifted and it no longer reflects what I want to see in a leader.
He lumped all "white liberals" as a monolithic group, when one person said something racist. We all blocked that racist account immediately and called them out. They did NOT represent anyone but themselves. Matthew Green quoted them with, "white liberals saying the quiet part out loud."
... That said, his post was back in the summer of 2020 and in the meantime, I've been impressed with some of what he's said during question period. I suppose it's possible to forgive him 🤷♀️
ASAP. @charlieangus104.bsky.social This is exactly who should be leading that party. Honest, decent, empathetic, relatable, on top of the issues, experienced and a true Cdn at heart who can firmly and intelligently hold his ground and make his case.
#cdnmedia #cdnpoli
And Pharmacare & School Lunches & Pension improvements & @jagmeetsingh.ca is a narcissistic opportunist. I just wish he was as competent as he imagines himself to be!!
Unfortunately, Charlie is retiring. He challenged Singh for leadership and lost, in a mistake that has cut the NDP off at the knees. And, in a climate custom made for their traditional message. What a shame.
I’m starting to think @jagmeetsingh.ca is a plant for the right. Does he truly think he’s helping the left? At this stage in the game it’s time to band together against the Conservatives and STOP fighting each other! Enough of this “oh he/she isn’t progressive enough”.
#anythingbutconservative
I think you're right. He is. He knows he won't win but, he doesn't care. He sees this suffering we're about to endure as an opportunity for himself. A grifter and a sorry as rich man.
By the same rules If the liberals truly cared about stopping pollievre they wouldn't run any candidates West of Sudbury to avoid vote siphoning from the NDP, who tend to be the only thing that can beat blue in that half of the country, but they're not gonna.
What it’s truly time for is getting rid of First Past the Post and have true Proportional Representation.
The left need to realize that anything right of centre has banded together and the longer we fight amongst our selves the quicker they win.
Singh emulating Pierre’s playbook will be the final nail in his coffin. The only party less popular will be the CPC with their complete lack of morals or policy. Crass & classless move by the NDP.
Batter up?
Literally soooo trashy. NDP has always lacked class, common sense, and morals. This effects how they interact with their own teams and is why the rarely win.
I live in @heathermcpherson.bsky.social’s riding. I’ve volunteered/voted for her even tho I’m more aligned w the Libs. She was the only candidate w a chance of beating the CPC.
Going forward I’ll vote Liberal regardless of the candidate bc I find Singh intolerable.
How can this man *still* not understand that health care is the responsibility of the provinces, not the federal government? Singh is such a sad disappointment.
Jagmeet needs to fuck right off. If not for PMJT, keeping his NDP leadership alive by allowing him to piggyback on the Liberal accomplishments. If not, Jagmeet would have been ousted for his consistent 4th place finishes. Fuck Jagmeet and the NDP If they keep him.
Comments
Based on the language used by active Liberal MPs when talking about Trudeau I think they'd agree with much of this statement
Overreacting as usual Dale?
blah blah blah 🤦♀️ Can we find a new #NDP leader while we are at it? That would be fun! #cndpoli
That's the NDP
Because I’ll never vote NDP while Singh is still leader
He also needs to go
I wanted substance at least but nooo
I will vote Liberal out of principle.
Said he'd vote with Poilievre on non-confidence
Sabotaged Canada's negotiations in a trade attack from USA
He should be the one resigning. #TraitorSingh
The NDP is quite capable of election gambling.
So far looks like I am still voting Liberal.
#ABC
And maybe
#ABC&NDP
last straw with Singh (and I’ve been an NDP supporter since David Lewis).
Shameful behaviour!
But, as per usual, faux progressive-centrists blame the NDP for the LPCs failures.
He promised a progressive government in 2015 and then spent the last 9 years running to the right. Good riddance.
Chrystia Freeland, Jane Philpott and Jody Wilson-Raybould would like a word with you.
That is all I can think of to blame this radical shift on.
Instead of using that time to bring ERRE back they used it to destroy a 25 year old Canadian children's charity.
Charlie Angus is a bad person.
#cdnmedia #cdnpoli
What changes to the Canada Health Act or jurisdiction does Singh want? 🦗
#anythingbutconservative
The left need to realize that anything right of centre has banded together and the longer we fight amongst our selves the quicker they win.
I’m an old Lougheed Conservative now supporting the Provincial NDP in #Alberta but won’t go anywhere near the Federal party.
Batter up?
Good grief.
I think his ego is writing checks that can't be cashed.
Going forward I’ll vote Liberal regardless of the candidate bc I find Singh intolerable.
I wish they’d put WAB or Janet in that role!!!!!
