In my view, the EHRC backtracked on its interim guidance/update when giving evidence to the Women and Equalities Committee. I now consider it is unreasonable not to offer an apology or withdraw the guidance, and I will write to the EHRC again to pursue further legal action. - ThreadSky

Her responses sounded like cakism to me. ‘The guidance clarified things, but still consult legal advice; no rights are being taken away, but trans people must stop what they’ve been doing; it won’t be enforced, but we expect people to adhere to it’, etc. .

They also stated that Article 8 does not apply when people use gendered spaces, which seems to be massive over-reach on their part. Can they simply disapply parts of the convention for their own convenience? And, presumably, for everyone?

I believe they changed the basis of the consultation as well as it was originally only on the clarity of the guidance now they will accept comments on its accuracy to the law? I may be wrong but worth a check?
