honestly kind of disappointing to see this policy approach spreading. the hard age limit is the easy path that doesn’t address the root of the problem: how the platforms are designed to work, which regulation should be used to change.

When it comes to other dangerous things, like driving, it's both. Policy always lags and chases harm. I see no problem with age restrictions given the lack of corporate character and government's pusillanimous efforts.
Could an age restriction act as a default ban on Social Media companies releasing programs & features that explicitly target underage users in those geographies?
As a left libertarian I’m very conflicted. People should be allowed to engage with stuff, but that stuff probably shouldn’t be allowed to manipulate them.
