In 2019, at 55, I got a part-time job where I had to wear the company logo tie. When they handed it to me, I put it on by feel and muscle memory without thinking and my young lady co-workers were so mightily impressed. I only went to Catholic school for a few years, but it was enough, apparently.

I learned that you can just loosen a tie, take it off, and leave it tied on a hanger until next time and that's been magical. I'll probably never have to tie a tie for an interview again.

I also exclusively wear bow-ties for non-interview occasions, which you can not do this with 😠
