Yes and no. She was always considered, by both me and the team, to be a "face" of Dragon Age. I'd have put her in DA2 if there'd been room, but thankfully that limitation is what allowed Flemeth to grow into her own.

Morrigan is probably my favorite character ever. I do think it's reductive to call her an ice queen: she's got a lot more going on, and plus she can be very warm and friendly if she desires to. By Inquisition she has grown and is far more mature, too. Very glad Claudia Black got to voice her!

She absolutely did. It took some time for her to get her bearings, but by the end of our first few sessions I actually went back and re-wrote a bunch of lines to match Claudia's voice. She informed so much of who Morrigan became.

I always loved Morrigan. Her learned refusal to care about most things cracking bit by bit always felt very satisfying to witness. Whatever they've done with her since, DAO Morrigan is Best Girl. (Sorry Zevran)

I ran a LARP once, and one of my players chose the name Morrigan for her character. I just always liked it, so I plucked it out of the back of my mind when naming the character. I wasn’t even aware of the mythology until I googled the name and thought “Huh. Sure, that works I guess.” 😅

That’s actually pretty awesome! Morrigan does have a “magical?” (Not sure if that is the proper word I want) feel to it then the amazing voice acting by Claudia just adds the to magical feel. I’m just a huge mythology nerd so that’s why the mythology came to my mind first.
