The Third Man is one of my favorite films of all time. I own the Criterion Collection special edition DVD. I used to be a Criterion collector back in the day.
I still love Criterion, but don't purchase them as often as I used to. Might be time to browse the storefront for a little Christmas treat in these trying times!
100% yes! Physical media is SOOOO important. Once you own that disc, it can never be taken away from you by a server outage, or a streaming platform shutting down, or DRM suddenly deciding you can't have access anymore.
I think I need to add to my collection.
But I have a bunch of old legacy VHS tapes of some very random stuff that… I haven’t decided how I feel
About them yet. I’m not ready to ditch it, but it’s def not stuff you’d find in dvd tho. Some of it is old MTV specials (headbangers ball hahahaha)
Having occasional internet outages that tend to last for several days has made me value bargain-priced physical media: I love op shops (charity shops) for records, CDs, DVDs and books. Good for cheap folders and such too: handy for hobbies etc.
I’m interested in that new Arrow release of A Simple Plan. They have some great titles on their release schedule (Shawscope 3, Inglourious Basterds, The Cell)
May I recommend the horror movie, "Trick 'r' Treat." It's a horror anthology that works very well and weaves stories together in a way that I found just wonderful.
I started buying DVDs again a few years ago during the strikes....it became really real that streaming would be unreliable so buy now while they're cheap
Passively, until my now fiance cane into the picture with a ginormous bluray collection.
Four years later and we're about 1400 deep, not including tv series.
You men the people who broke the bank on the Criterion flash sale and are now figuring out how to budget the Barnes & Noble Criterion sale? Yes, we are here.
Yeah, just could not get anywhere to post it to UK.
Gutted,I am old enough to have had it on VHS on it's release way back in the 80s...one of my favourite horrors.
Great selection of 4ks you picked up,expensive hobby but the reward is worth it.
oh that's all rad, I do have to ask though, what is critereon? I saw it before and I know it couldn't be the Need For Speed critereon, so i'm curious as to waht this criterion is.

Me: "Look! Special edition!!! Oooooo!!!"
Everyone else: "I just download or stream...."
Me: *le sigh*

Nice grab!
Also, I want that The Third Man 4K but I do not have the real estate for it at all so will have to settle for a smaller edition later.
This is just a portion of my CD collection. Vinyl/DVDs/Blu-Rays/Wrestling Videos/Books/Comics are elsewhere.
