Given his lack of scandals post death, the party is worried he will lack the crucial name recognition factor their voters require at the polls. To assist in this, sexual harassment scandals will be dug up from the nearest cemetery.
He's gonna be on a brocast later with RFK Jr. discussing the tastiest types of roadkill. But he'll need to disagree with him on fluoride before he gets my vote. We need Senator Web Bones to care about the real issues.
I dunno, they should at least have a *discussion* about fluoridation, maybe on Gavin Newsom's podcast. If Senator Web Bones can show the centrists that he's willing to reach across the aisle, he could even be a frontrunner in '28!
We still need a debate about fluoridation🤔?? Studies after studies continue to show that widespread community water fluoridation prevents cavities and saves money.
Senator Web Bones is a strong believer in established science, but also feels it's important to hear out people with different opinions. It's why he voted to confirm HHS Sec. Kennedy, despite having strong, personal reservations about his competence, character, and general hygiene.
The "pressing issue" has been staring us in the face for the last 100+ days and has nothing to do with age. How about we address criminality, cruelty, destruction of the government & authoritarianism. How's that for a "great idea" instead of following every "dog treat" 34-felon throws out?
oh ofc because ineffectual dem leadership had *nothing* to do with Trump winning, definitely not an issue that needs to be rooted out if there's to be a viable left party in this country
But, speaking as a boomer, there's experience and there's hanging on far, far too long.
These people have no idea -- and frankly they don't seem to care-- about climate change, the fact that the young can't pay for college, or a a house (or an apt!), or childcare, etc.
I just got yelled at for saying he shouldn't have run for re-election after his face peeled off, because apparently it's heartless to expect Democrats with one face, not zero or two!
Murkle, the God of Death, needs to be represented too! Why shouldn't democrats pivot to the undead voter? Sure zombies will do anything for brains, but skeletons are tricksy and want more than just a nice firm cerebellum now and again.
I'm sorry, but I don't want foreign interference from the Underworld in elections. If they want to participate in living democracies then they need to follow the proper channels; by reincarnating and then living for 18 years without getting deported by a school shooter!
Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has been in congress since 1975 and is almost 93 years old. His fellow senators poke him awake telling him to yell yes or no. His MA in political science is from 1956, pursued PHD but didn't make it. Things have changed since then. Weak on rights but has done good.
I grew up in IA. Chuck Grassley was elected when I was a sophomore in HS. I'm now retired and have great grandchildren. But sure. He's not too old. Right, IA voters?
Every little town in Iowa is dependent on the clinics, hospitals & nursing homes to provide jobs & economic activity. Iowa will go blue in 2026! The GOP could care less about the farmers, working people & seniors there. Not too many billionaires in Iowa!
I guess the spelling part of lessons weren't in the curriculum of Iowa State Teachers College in 1956. Some of these "aw shucks" politicians fake it but I think Chuck is genuinely ignorant.
"The data are drawn from Department of Agriculture subsidy records, MFP records obtained under the Freedom of Information Act and additional information from the members’ public financial disclosures, and are through June 30, 2020."
"Six other lawmakers – Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), Rep. Ralph Abraham (R-La.), Rep. Devin Nunes (R.-Calif.), Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.) and Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) – or their families received between $100,000 and about $400,000 in subsidies and/or MFP payments."
Last year a Texas rep (R) was found in an assisted living facility for dementia patients after 6 months of missed voting. Herself and office staff still collecting pay checks

Experience is what I look for the most in a candidate. If they have not been dead and buried for at least 10 yrs, they have not yet earned my vote. RFK Senior for senate. Dead Kennedys Rule.
There’s a song written by Steve Allen back in the 60’s called” I never hurt an onion,so why should they make me cry “. I laugh about that every time I read one of your posts. “Thanks for the memories”, that’s another throw back to the 60’s. Bob Hope used to end his show with that line back the day.
D issue is them politicians have NO LIFE outside of their political one. Chuck should enjoy what life he’s got left and spend time with his family and friends instead of trying 2 please MAGATs & Cheeto.
TBH term limits won't do it. We'd need to abolish the senate, triple the number of reps, and adopt Mixed Member Proportional Representation much like new zealand uses.
We'd still probably have 2-3 skeletons in congress but at least they wouldn't be able to exercise so much power.
I like that idea! I has to look up New Zealand's proportional representation model (has not head of it), but I understand now. It would be a good starting point. Sadly, I'm this time of GOP thuggery, were got a lot to fix, go shut the authorities down.
I prefer this over term limits just because experience really can count for a lot. Well, it did, decades ago. Guess these days, experience, skill, and knowledge of the Constitution don't mean much. So I'm torn...
I understand. I feel that way most days. Other days I am questioning how him the hell we ended up with so many criminals and liars in power. Supposedly, we are an educated, rational people of principle. There is no excuse for this.
I listened to a podcast last night, & the guest spoke about running for office years ago & losing. She stated that the Dems were angry with her for running because “She didn’t wait her turn”. This isn’t elementary school. If you’re qualified to run, let the people decide whose turn it is.
She just said that she ran for Congress and lost badly. Afterwards, the Democrats were angry with her about it because she was relatively new to the political scene and she didn’t “wait her turn “. She’s gone on to be a business owner.
🙄 Who said that they didn’t? I’m not referring to her situation in isolation. The point I was making was that the party leaders should not be dictating who gets to run, or who is placed in leadership positions.
Can you believe I thought there was a logical connection between your sentences the way you placed them one after another? What a fucking idiot I am for inferring that
Listen, he’s in a swing district, he only won by +14 last election, putting a new candidate in could alienate potential voters, he’ll step down eventually

At what point does the US military doing nothing about a "Domestic Enemy" constitute:

"What is it? "Don't die"?"
They want to see themselves in their politicians.

Term limits for senior citizens! 🤬🤷
We knew this for some time now.
Now did you hear about that one candidate who's 100% not going to win despite having every single policy, talking point and vibe the people want?
If they just toned down their good ideas, they might win 1 more vote.
One of these might have a fresher perspective...
We'd still probably have 2-3 skeletons in congress but at least they wouldn't be able to exercise so much power.
