So, for the most part, I think the whole honours system in this country is very weird, archaic and overly politicised, however, if there is one thing that a knighthood is appropriate for, it’s making sure that kids don’t go hungry.

Personally I am rather conflicted about it all. On one hand it all feels a bit archaic and a bit of a joke, on the other hand my grandfather was awarded an MBE for services to medical science, as the person for identifying the transmission vector for malaria ...
Something I feel was worthy of an honour, even if I am not sure the man himself was (he somehow managed to be a very clever man and asshat at the same time).
