I was working on a booth in Kensington/Flemington, Victoria - and was quietly pleased to see almost "North Koreans vote for Glorious Leader" numbers for "Yes" in my area.
At least most of MY neighbours seem to be nice - and we have all agreed to start digging a moat, For Reasons.
I'm with Dirk on this one. I already knew most of them were fuckwits, but having my nose rubbed into overwhelming evidence that so many of them are also happily racist is really not something I needed.
I can't imagine how it all feels for our First Nations people tonight. 3
Knowing that my electorate overwhelmingly voted yes ensures that we'll be written off as a progressive enclave, and therefore free of any serious conservative campaign presence for the next decade. But also, a bubble. Like an escape pod floating in the void.
Tiny, tiny victories. Deakin, interestingly, overall did what it did in the federal election - a very close result with the "bad side" finally winning out.
A race to the bottom. I’m sure there are people in Gippsland who would applaud the return of apartheid. Pretty sure I made a very bad decision moving here. And we also have a sizeable First Nations population. 😭💔
We had a polling team doing a pre poll, the results aren’t available and it looks like they will all be put in together with other booths. Thanks for the links though, some areas are definitely better than others.

Has a great breakdown map graphic, by electorate.
My neighbourhood Goldstein sitting at 61% Yes, next door in Macnamara - over 70% Yes.
Since they added south Mackay to Capricornia, Rockhampton has been successfully gerrymandered.
