I bet Columbo is wishing he had better depth perception right now so he could fully appreciate leering at erotic art books in a public space. I know I would.
You know one time I was walking across the bookstore and then I saw this book this naked lady on it and I couldn't help myself with my wife. I love my wife. She said why are you doing that and then I got in trouble. Needless to stay a couple days later I went back to look the book again
I recently started binge watching “Justified “
I enjoy your role on the series.
It’s one of my coping skills for this current apocalypse in our country.
“My wife and her cousin love this stuff, I don’t understand it myself. I mean, it looks like that bullwhip would fall right out if you tried to use it. Oh, by the way, I noticed your left-handed, Mr. Fisk.”
I sometimes doubt myself, especially since Universal's TV set library skewed towards the midcentury modern look, which embraced ultra-clean lines, rich wood-paneled walls, and the "stairs don't need a railing" aesthetic. But being Glendale born and bred, Vroman's is etched on my brain.
I'm in Pasadena. I see Vroman's in shows sometimes, notably Parks and Rec and Shrinking. So I have a little practice sussing out, "Wait ... is that Vroman's?" That definitely could be.
I have had a mild fascination with this fellow for a while. We share a birthday, and we both have lost an eye. Wait. Off to ask my actuary nephew what the odds on that are.
Short article out this week, you can find it online:

At first, in the thumbnail view, it looked like he was ogling a book about pancakes (due to the back cover), then when I got a closer look at the full size image I was like "hey, pancakes can still be erotic"
This photo reminds me of when I played The Sims 2. A Sim sat down to read a magazine and flipped the magazine sideways and it turned into a fold out. He looked around and then back to the magazine smiling. It was clearly a "men's" magazine. Funniest Sim moment ever.
Missing #alttext : “ Colombo in a bookstore, holding up a copy of “new history of erotic art“ book open as if he is looking at a centerfold. He has one eyebrow raised in a sly expression.”

I have been rewatching “Columbo” episodes and they are great fun. Just watched one with Ruth Gordon, who was 80 when she played the oldest murderer in the series’ history.
She was very clearly having a blast when she filmed that episode - she even skips, once, in a scene as she leaves a room following Columbo. I like how you also never know her victim's guilt, or not; it's just Her belief that drives her. Also, that particular episode has particularly excellent music.
Columbo from the 70’s is EVERYTHING 🤩 The juxtaposition of all that old school Hollywood glamour against his no-frills, adorably haphazard demeanor is absolute magic.

Going to make a point of watching a couple of episodes this weekend. I think one with William Shatner as guest star.
I enjoy your role on the series.

Rolled up the wooly—what'd he do?—and I watched Columbo
