I dont know why but I love the robins in my area. They always give me their judgy look. They like to make their nest in our rose bush. Just over all a pleasant time watching them.

We're blessed here in Australia too. Rainbow Lorikeets and Australian Magpies are thoroughly urbanised, and will happily and hungrily come to the balcony. But if I had to choose, it would have to be that truly extraordinary mimic, the Lyrebird.

I like Robin red-breasts. It was the first bird i can remember drawing at school. Miss Jackson was very impressed with the drawing.

When I was a kid, it was called the eastern goldfinch (I think they’ve renamed the species), and I loved it because it was the NJ official state bird! But cardinals, Bluejays, ducks, and shoebills are pretty great birds.

My faves are: Cardinals, Carolina wrens, Crows, vultures and Laysan Albatross. I managed a seabird rehab center& we had about 6 of these come in emaciated because they landed on cargo ships & couldn't take off. I got to release them on whale watching trips and the Farallons. Loved it!
