If you haven't tried the PS1 final fantasy games, I can't recommend them enough. They aren't as character driven as 6 and don't play as cleanly as 10, especially 8, but are great in their own right.

Yoshi's Island is a really good game and a favorite of mine. It really pushed the SNES to it's limits and had a bangin' soundtrack.

It was my first & carries a special place with me but 9 knocked it out of the park for me. It's story about the characters being lost in their direction in life hit me, especially Vivi 😭

I'll replay 10. I stopped when I got to Sin and died repeatedly. Didn't even get past being on the air ship lol. The fight between the best is always 10, 9, and 6.

7 is only cause of it breaking the JRPG barrier with the rest of the world, but I like others better. Remakes are a blast though
