President-elect Trump has mused more than once that he might like to extend his next stay at the White House. But can he run for re-election again in 2028 and seek a third term? The simple answer: No, the Constitution does not allow it.
Here’s what the law says.

That being said, I won’t be surprised if JD pushes him out after two years and a day, so Vance can serve 10 years.
These people are entirely morally bankrupt and the rule of law means nothing to them.
Y’all chronically underestimate his depravity.

Epic media fail
There will be drama and strife over this, because he won't leave office willingly.
LOL
LOL!
Trump's a 34x felon. Like he gives a god damn about the law.
He will wipe his enormous ass with the constitution.
You, NYT, are responsible for this.
You wanted clicks and now we all pay the price.
May you burn down to the ground!
Trump doesn't care what the constitution allows and SCOTUS doesn't seem either.
The only thing that I believe will keep Trump from a third term is that by 2028 if he'd be so dement that he/his aides won't even be able to keep up a bare image.
The only hope he has is the Supreme Court going with a creative interpretation.
Thank reason and...
Praise Bob!
Bob guarantees 'eternal salvation' or your money back!!
It's a capitalist's dream!!!
Don't hope that the law will help you
Based on past evidence, the answer may be “not much.”
He’s even talked about scrapping it.
He tried to commit a coup using fake electors and telling election offices to “find” votes instead of counting them.
WAKE UP!
So, to remind everyone: While people obsess about something that might happen sometime, Trump's making phone calls to world leaders & potential advisors about things that might happen in 2025. It's sleight of hand.
We know how it worked to make sure nobody forgot Jan. 6, taking classified docs, adjudicated rapist, 34 criminal convictions, etc. Oh, wait...
We know how it worked to make sure people knew about his unfitness. Oh, wait...
Since when did Nazis care about the law? 🤡
Does it eventually come down to the Court ruling him ineligible for ballots?
Anything left of the country after that will be an ungovernable wasteland.
I remember the Constitution and that quaint concept of no one being above the law

Not all Republicans are onboard with his MAGA ways. John McCain stopped Obamacare from dissolving.
