In the final chapter of my book, Between Two Rivers, I talk about rock art and inscriptions in Saudi Arabia that tell us a bit about Nabonidus, the Babylonian king.
This dark boulder sits on reddish sand outside of Tayma, a major, multicultural hub of ancient trade. It seems unremarkable at first.

(Seriously, looking forward to it.)
I find it interesting that there's seemingly no local bookstores owned by right wingers.
Their book stores would only carry bibles and books on NASCAR.
Although they do seem to be very into fiction of a certain type.
βI am Mrdn, servant of Nabonidus, king of Babylon. I came with the Chief Officer Kyt in the waterless wilderness beyond the desert of Lβq.β
He is saying βI was here and so was the Babylonian kingβ in a local script. I think thatβs incredible.
Mrdn: "So this is me and my pal - KING NABONIDUS - just hangin' out in the waterless wilderness, smokin' some fatties. Bet you are all so jelly! PEACE OUT."
I thought Mesopotamian kings rather avoided the Arabian desert, other than for multi-year sabbaticals or to lose armies.
I desperately need to work on name recognition! π±
