Before I took statistics in college my father said I’d either get an A or a F because you either get it or you don’t. So I got a C.

What ended up working for me was a combination of taking some data science courses that had a hands-on approach to developing statistical literacy through doing applied projects and reading books and papers about how people lie/misinform/bullshit with statistics

yeah that's ultimately what made stats click for me, too. getting out of regression analysis weeds and into applications, then going back.

The other key thing imo is that one has to actually use math on an ongoing basis or those skills atrophy. I’ve very rarely had to use the math I learned in my undergrad over my 20 year career and I ended up losing quite a lot of it.

Also very true. There's a lot where I've kept the intuitions but would 100% need a refresher to actually work through real problems.
