I joined a team with an existing design system, and without going into details, renaming components is an arduous task.
They named their Notification component Toast, even though it comes in from the top, not the bottom. You know, like how toast pops up from a toaster.
I want to rename it so bad!

(Maybe it's a deep cut & works as intended, but) you end up 180° away whenever there's a notification. So not very playable alas.
Naming a component for its behaviour over its presentation seems preferable
If there's a good design system refactor path / process, I want someone to clue me in, bad
Though I have no problem with “breadcrumbs.” 🤔
And unfortunately we have to adhere to the ways they work, whereas they readily dismiss the ways we work. It really is a struggle
The whole reason it's called Toast is because it's supposed to pop up from the bottom like piece of toast does from a toaster. Anything else is not a true Toast.
