I first saw you at WOMAD in Reading many many years ago, and I think you were giving a speech with CND as an MEP at the time. You stood out as such a principled and clear politician that I have followed your career ever since.

Ex-constituent of yours (lifelong Labour til you put your oar in) I, along with many, am saddened by your absence from the benches. Often noticed you waiting patiently for the connecting train home, rather than jumping in a cab on expenses, could count on 1 hand other MPs I thought would do same.
