I was not at the Provo event, but I had friends who did attend and there are pictures that show a good turnout of at least 5,000 engaged patriotic citizens of Utah County.
The Salt Lake City morning event was very well attended, but I have not seen estimates just yet.
I was at Provo Utah protest and over nearly 5000 people there plus the farmers market in the park - people wandering in and out. Lots of motorists supporting us with honks. Louder and more fun than DC lol
A conversation I've had with an author essentially boiled down to "Why did no one tell me?"
I had to respond with "Because most people don't respond well, and tend to protest."
And yeah, all of the author's friends knew before she did.
I will 100% support any non-violent protests of this admin. Even the ones I don’t think are particularly helpful. I am WAY more interested in principles than perfect tact
Just for perspective, the most generous estimate of attendance would still be a fraction of the WEBN fireworks in Cincinnati, OH. And this is the 250th birthday of the Army we're talking about, that's a fairly significant anniversary.
The tanks and planes have yet to arrive. And the end of the route appears to be more populated and spirited. But here between 20th and 21st streets on Constitution Avenue, the mood is decidedly subdued. Golf clap-level enthusiasm as we hit the 6:20 p.m. mark.
Standing in shitty weather amidst a middling crowd watching something that hasn't happened since the end of the Gulf War would probably leave you feeling a bit foolish and confused. At that point, golf clap is all you have.
Hey guys! It's YOUR day! How bout you walk for miles on blacktop in the summer to congratulate Taco Don for managing to escape jail time despite 34 felonies?
There were more people on New Hampshire Ave. by IHOP today protesting this bullshit than are standing there on Constitution Avenue across from…what, a Smithsonian museum or federal agency headquarters building, probably?
I'm so tired of seeing this in reference to any time North Korea is mentioned. North Korea is famous for their military parades in front of their dictator. It is an apt comparison and you can stop looking for excuses to post the meme.
Those soldiers don't look that excited and people seem to be out there more out of curiosity than excitement or patriotism - no cheering from the crowd visible.
Can confirm that they are *not* throwing candy or little army toys or beads from the tanks, and my 9-year-old self who got candy and little army toys and beads from a tank soldier on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, N.Y., in 1980something is a little sad.
This is 1/3 the crowd in the middle of Wyoming that showed up today to protest! A county 10,000 whole people got 100 people to the first protest people remember happening in town…we cheered louder 😂
Born in Laramie in 1951. Couldn’t wait to get the hell out of WY in 1969. It was full of GOP misogynists, racists, & homophobes who went to church 3X a week then. Which is so sad considering it’s “The Equality State” & I was so proud of my suffragette great-aunts. It took courage 2 do what U did!👏👏👏
Amazing! Consider joining our movement building real change from the ground up. We connect people locally & nationally to share resources, support each other & organize for action. We still need a state rep for WY!

Clearly this is a bust, only one side of the street allowed for viewing with the “crowd” is single row deep and sparsely spaced. What a joke and a huge waste of taxpayer dollars!
I live in a town of 70,000. More people show up for our Memorial Day parade than he seems to have gotten. And no candy is no bueno. Is it even a real parade if no one is throwing stuff at you?
They could've hired Mardi Gras crewes from New Orleans but, no. No beads for MAGA. Which is just as well given that we've already seen Melania's bare breasts.
As a vet I’m so goddamned angry. Angry they’re being used. Angry that some people think the military is the enemy. Angry that a draft dodger would once again con people into choosing him over 250 years of norms. Angry that GOP are AWOL.
Тяцмр’s a punk, not a CinC. Don’t blame the troops.
I am angry that the orange idiot hijacked the 250th anniversary of the US Army for his birthday. A birthday parade by the US Army for a draft dodger...
Oh, we're not. Was it silly to spend so much on a parade the same year as DOGE-ing everything to 💩? Sure was. But, if they'd planned this on a day when it wasn't also his birthday, we could have at least rallied around y'all. Instead... ETTD.
Prediction:
The photo taken of the “crowd” from this helicopter will be edited by Trump’s regime to show 100s of thousands, if not millions, of people.
Walked down to the end of the parade route in front of the presidential viewing stand. On video boards above President Donald Trump, an advertisement for defense contractor Palantir, an event sponsor. Palantir spends millions annually to lobby the gov’t, per fed’l records via @opensecrets.org
If they want to see big choppers, just go to a disaster area, assuming Trump sends help to those. We live near the Asheville airport and heard Black Hawks and Ospreys for weeks post-Helene.
Was at a parade in North Dakota where they were throwing candy and the little fat kid next to me said “be a lot cooler if they were throwing beef jerky” and I’m convinced he was on to something.
How weird that those we my exact parade experiences, right down to Delaware Ave in the 1980s. It was almost always cold and infinitely more fun than this. Those parachute army dudes were so cool.
When I was a kid, there was a Veteran's Day parade that had tanks, old jeeps, a marching band, and an airshow. It wasn't big because it was pretty local, we lived close to a base. That local Veteran's Day parade had more excitement and attendees than this!! Plus the kids got candy and glow sticks!
Frankly, if I were the commanding forces of the great nation of Granada, I would invade the US Homeland now as payback for invasion of Grenada years ago. Clearly there's nothing to worry about based on the parade. You got this.
The King of America demonstrates to his fellow bloodsoaked leaders in North Korea and in the Apartheid State of Israel how to do vacuous, egotistical, narcissistic triumphalism on a big scale on an effectively unlimited budget, while the mass of the population struggles in misery and insecurity.
Such an embarrassment to this country…tanks and troops parading through Washington, DC like a conquering horde and for no other purpose than to stroke the ego of a single man. Well, maybe two men…I’m sure Hegseth is getting some perverted thrill from this display, also 😒
Oh my goodness. The quiet squeaking in front of a few dozen people blankly staring. Honestly striking. I didn’t expect a big crowd, but this is shocking.
If j6 was among the most horrible moments in American history, this bag of dicks parade for sure is the most pathetic moment. Makes the country look like a fucking clown.
With full respect to soldiers and their sacrifices, Americans suck at marching and you can see it was put together last minute. That said, it’s sad that soldiers had to practice marching at all for this.
I feel for that band. Depending on who it is there are some top tier groups in the armed forces, but I have heard more excitement for a highschool band in a town of 4,000 people.
Many places along the way, probably all the way, we had 3, 4, 5 people deep, less only if the sidewalk didn't allow more, here in a smaller city in low-population Montana. #nokings brought out unbelievably many people! Poor donnie must be so sad, ha ha.
The Smithsonian gets more than that during any day for the Folk Life Festival in July. In. July. The 🍊💩 can't get that on a mild Saturday in June. Pitiful 🤣

One of those Authors that it’s like “I am glad they know before thousands of Autistic people are like ‘does this Author know they are Autistic?’”
I had to respond with "Because most people don't respond well, and tend to protest."
And yeah, all of the author's friends knew before she did.
Beyond disturbing.
Who and what did they fight to end again?
But
What does the street destruction protection look like?

We had tens of thousands in San Francisco today
"the country that had weekly rallies for the president for 4 years is only just now importing jingoistic nationalism from The Mysterious East."

Yawn.
The sound of a main battle tank rolling in - engine is loud, tracks screaming - and the ground shaking, is not a welcoming experience
Wonder how the poor marchers feel about that
And he's a waste of oxygen

No rain = no excuses for such pathetically dismal turnout.
🥳👏😂😂😂😂😂😘
I love it

The ego of an asshole denied the #USArmy the celebration it's 250th year of Service deserved.
Coming from a family of Veterans, dating back to my granddad's service in WWII, I found this charade despicable.
