Jeanine: We get 60% of our crude oil from Canada. If the United States is going to be energy independent again, we have a tougher negotiating stance with Canada, because we are not going to need as much of that crude oil..

Of course as you all know, you can just stop buying 60% oil from Canada, because you can wave that orange magic wand which just produces oil in a jiffy…
And I mean builds the wells, the pipes and the refineries all in a New York fraudulent minute if you have to! 😂
It's not, Canada is 60% of our oil imports, but we are a net exporter. We import so much Canadian oil because their oil is what American refineries can economically turn into gasoline, which they can't do with many Americam grades of oil.
Very happy that Trudeau bought Canada's Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project (TMX). "While much of the oil unloaded from the Trans Mountain pipeline is being shipped by tanker to California, some is ending up in Asia."
1/2
"Canadian oil exports to Asia have gone from effectively zero prior to Trans Mountain entering operation to a monthly average of $325 million since May, according to ATB Financial."
I'm pretty sure we can change the ratio if prudent.
Drill until you’re broke. Oil companies have done it before. I doubt they already forgot what happened to the shale fracking boom. https://wapo.st/3CYcPXC
Producing oil in the U.S. costs about $65 per barrel, compared to for example, $22 in the Middle East. Restricting cheaper oil imports raises costs for consumers and inflates prices. Policies should focus on energy affordability and fostering competition, not creating artificial barriers.
Not many lawyers possess the expertise about energy that Judge Jeanine does. Of course, she is an expert on everything, just ask Dominion Voting Machines and Smartmatic.
Genius, Jeanine! Coz tRUmp would have plunged manufacturing and infrastructure spending, set up by Biden so handily, into the crater and no, US won't be needing that oil from Canada so much.
Starting a trade war with Canada does neither country any good. We will fight back, trust me - we’ve been here before and will send our lumber, oil and other goods to Europe and Asia.
No, it means they’re going to destroy every protected piece of land to “drill, baby drill”.
It’s going to be a disaster to nature and contaminate the last bit of clean water in the United States.
Good times.
And they will be taking over (despoiling/exploiting, our natural resources) our public lands (ostensibly safeguarded for future generations of Americans to have something other than a dystopic environment ) and privatizing the oil /profits.
From what I hear, they're not even close to using all the drilling permits they already have and drilling more to increase supply will decrease their profits. So I'm hoping their greed will at least somewhat hold them back from the worst of it.
This is what happened the last time.
I’m not trying to be an “alarmist”, I’m only using my knowledge of his behavior change from 2016 to 2020 and how he’s setting up his government and media this time. He won’t take no for an answer, even if it means incarceration, or worse, to opposition.
The bizarre thing is that the fossil fuels industry has already leased millions of acres of public lands that they could have been drilling on for years, but haven’t.
The U.S. is the world's leading producer and exporter of oil. The U.S. imports oil from Canada and Saudi Arabia, and exports oil to Mexico and Canada. The need is infrastructure (e.g. pipelines that go to the refineries).
She probably already has a solution on how to build all those new refineries which are not designed to refine most oil produced in the US (which the US exports and then imports Canadian oil).
US refineries only process heavy imported oil, while fracking produces light oil, and pipeline deliver that heavy oil from Canada. So the US can't provide enough refined petroleum without Canadian imports.
We are already record drilling. Where do they think they are gonna be able to drill more? I know tRump plans to end all regulations on drilling and everything else, and we will see places that have been preserved will have drill rigs everywhere. There won't be any more protected land.
I'm so confused. How does this idiot think manufacturing happens or electricity is made? Hasn't she been screaming about Biden stopping the "Keystone" pipeline for the last 4 years. She has no idea that oil comes from Canada.
She speaks with the authority of some who is not used to being interrupted. Fact free, deeply opinionated bullshittery and, for some reason people lap op up like dogs on sick
These dorks are picking a fight with Canada? Drugs and migrants are not a big issue coming in from Canada. Some certainly exist, but hardly a crisis. None of this is well thought out. America is turning into a clown car.
🤡 🚗
We are and have been “energy independent” since 2019 or so. We have NEVER been “oil independent” and cannot be in the foreseeable future. 1) We don’t pump enough oil (even running wide open) to meet America’s demand, and 2) We don’t currently have the refining capacity.
Boy, Oh, Boy, is she really that stupid?
Maybe G O O G L E is just too hard for her to spell after she's sucked back a snoot-full of cheap box-wine?
And she's on TeeVee?
This thread is bashing her b/c she makes zero sense, but everyone fails to understand is that the entire Republican party thinks what she said is genius and super excited for trumps Canadian tariffs!
When we are picking fights like trade wars with the nicest neighbors we have ever had, Canadians, we are in fact the villain of this world. Of course old Donald is going to bully the nice kid!! I can’t stand him or people who like him. Bc HOW! it’s so fucked on this timeline. Get me out 😒😒
Listen these folks like Janine, they’re stupid. We also get the wood pulp for our toilet paper from Canada…… think on that for a minute and what it means
To get a window into the right wing mindset: they think Trump is going to stop all foreign imports by having all production happen within America. And the switch over will be as fast as flipping a switch.
Question (stay with me):
Why does 50% of this country not think she’s a drunken, moronic, despicable jackass?
Or, WTF are we Dems not understanding about this country?
There’s a reason we import from Canada then the US is producing more oil than any other country. Our oil is not the light crude needed to make gas, etc. Most of our oil is exported. So tariffs on oil from Canada translate into higher gas prices..
Except "we", as in private oil companies, sell their commodity on international markets at the best price. Unless she's talking about nationalizing oil to keep it in the U.S....

Smart people: WTF is she talking about???
And I mean builds the wells, the pipes and the refineries all in a New York fraudulent minute if you have to! 😂
What an ignorant tool.

Never trust a con artist who filed for bankruptcy 6 times and closed many more failed businesses of his to head up anything.

NO WAR ON CHRISTMAS????
Apparently our crude oil is too cheap
We need to put an export tax on that before it makes it to the states. It's only fair
2018 🇨🇦 terrorists?

Just don't buy from Canada. Easy peasy.

I can't wait for Judge Wine'O'Clock to realize how much her box a day is gonna cost her next year.
Dumb & dumber

(But it won’t.)
Canada can impose an export tax on crude oil to the US.
Matching the tariff(s) - percentage wise.
Double whammy to the US economy and the message to Trump? Don't mess with us.
These FoxProp talking heads are so ignorant and the people watching have no clue that they are
Pirro doesn't have her ear on the Trumpian outpourings of "concepts of plans" -- last I heard he was excited about reviving the Keystone XL pipeline.
Verbal diarrhea.
to understand macro😆
So I guess the price at the pump will go up in the US
🤡 🚗
Never mind, it’s just FOX Propaganda Network fiction.
U.S. imports 3.9M barrels of crude oil from Canada per day which is 62% of the crude oil IMPORTS.
America produces ~13M barrels of crude oil per day so you’re pretty much dead on at 20%
3.9/(3.9/.6 + 13) = 20%
Maybe G O O G L E is just too hard for her to spell after she's sucked back a snoot-full of cheap box-wine?
And she's on TeeVee?
Wait…
Stupid people + a stupid decision - a calculator = MAGA on the road

If we import less from Canada we will be unable to export as much to solve problems for Europe.
The port capacity we have been building up to cover their shortfalls due to Russian warmongering will be a financial loss for Trump's oil friends.
None of this happens.
Why does 50% of this country not think she’s a drunken, moronic, despicable jackass?
Or, WTF are we Dems not understanding about this country?
That doesn’t make sense!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😉
They’re misinformed enough to think she is too.
In relatiation Americans will see exports to Canada drop, and cost blue collar jobs across the country.
Who wins?
Fox News is the US based RT.
2. The US is a net EXPORTER of oil.
These. Fucking. People. 😑
