Republicans fail to pass a bill to keep the government open that they negotiated with themselves after detonating a bipartisan deal that they had negotiated with Democrats

Next MAGAs will be claiming they're more conscientious and hard-working because they've already been industrious about f-ing things up even before Trump(Musk) takes over January 20. Bye-bye final peaceful holiday season.
The extremist Republicans rule their party. They have no PLATFORM other than maintain power; minority rule.
Their power-seeking activities leave no time for actual governance, so they are OK w unelected, unaccountable Christian Nationalists creating an agenda, and Billionaires giving them orders.
Let's be clear, an unelected Billionaire, Elon Musk, controls the Republicans.
Musk, bought his way into the Trump Executive Office, and with no government experience, and many government conflicts of interest, he demanded that Republicans kill their own bill. Out of fear, they obeyed.
That’s what every headline should say! The truth but take a look at the spin. Exactly why we are in this freaking mess. We have to deal with the media by strong counter voiced now or this shit show just goes on and on.
I'm going to paraphrase that for use here in Canada.
Our Trump wanna be, Pierre Poilievre, keeps saying 'Canada is broken', so I will use it as, "Canada is broken, elect us and we'll prove it."
Sadly, we do not. In Alberta, we elected a DeSantis worshipping, former oil lobbyist, and public healthcare hater as our premier. She is nearly creaming her jeans in anticipation of going to Washington to celebrate Trump's inauguration.
Trudeau has been leader too long. It doesn't matter what he accomplished or will, there has been enough time for any opposition to focus on a failure, or perceived failure. He should prepare a successor instead of letting it fall to the worst of the worst. Don't be like America.
I mean, isn't this perception within your control, really? It seems to me you'd look down here and see the mistakes we've made and not repeat them. One of those is believing right wing propaganda has some kind of merit.
I listen to a podcast hosted by someone who worked in the House years ago and basically there’s a half dozen or so members absent nearly every day. They may be sick. They may have a family emergency. Maybe they just went home early. It happens.
Quite apparent he has zero clue how to count votes before a call to vote. And might actually have Emmer (Whip) and Scalise (Maj Leader) working against him
Counting votes is important. It’s also important to have the respect of his leadership team (he doesn’t) and the respect of the members of his caucus (he doesn’t).
Heck, he'll just leave, resign & go back home to FL & ride a golf cart
Leaving Vance the No-Show & Jezus Johnson (2nd in line) to vye for the job.
Trump got what he was hired to do & his job is done, he doesn't actually give a hoot about the WH.
He'll get pardons & big $$ & wonder off.
oh my god why is molinaro the one highlighted here
i called him recently and got an autofilled email response saying that since he was voted out he wasnt doing anything except like, tours, basically, until the term rollover
i was close to asking if he was staying home but. he wouldnt see it. so.
i would love to know why he even bothered to send an email, autofilled or otherwise, for a phone call. he could have ignored it and not told me he gave the fuck up.
genuinely why is this man highlighted as the speaker here
he was voted out and is telling people that call him that he gave up? lmao?
GOP Reps take note: the more of you that band together the harder time Musk will have keeping track of you and following through on his primary threats, and more painful if he does.
Behold the folly of the unelected billionaire Musk, who knows naught of governance yet pulls the strings of the Tangerine Tyrant and his witless thralls. Their deeds weaken our soldiers and burden the toiling folk. Those who crowned this chaos bear the shame of its ruin.
The debt ceiling is literally just authorizing money the government already spent. It's a stupid-ass concept that should have been ended years ago, but like so many others, Republicans keep it to weaponize it and Democrats are too spineless to get rid of it when they have the chance.
See also: the filibuster. And the Electoral College almost fits, but because it's actually in the Constitution, it's a bit harder to get rid of. Democrats still don't get a pass for not even trying to make it an issue, except for maybe a few months after they lost in 2000 and 2016, though.
HaHa Musk didn’t get his way. Does anybody remember seeing his name on the presidential ballot. No you didn’t. He’s not eligible to even run according to the constitution.
The United States is currently under ongoing attack by Russia through its agents tRump and Elon Musk. The Republican Party has officially declared itself the Party of Putin. Will America take this shit lying down? FFS!
This bill required a 2/3 majority. Republicans knew they needed Democratic votes to pass this, even if they could get all the Republican votes. After they threw out the bipartisan bill negotiated with Democrats why did they think this would pass? Trump and Musk don't understand how Congress works.
That tracks. Like everyone, including Republicans, kept noting after the election, the Democrats lost. Sorry bastards can't even win their own election without someone else doing it for them.

We were warned democracy was on the line in November.
We seem to forget, it was real.
They can't even get MElons re-do right
After an already agreed upon CR that he killed.
Republicans can't do anything right
And the ones voting for?
Kaptur (OH) voted Present

Hell, he's young enough that he could eventually pull a comeback down the line, or do like Harper and run a shadowy org (i.e the IDU).
And one Dem voted present and 11 I think it was were absent
Why were they absent and who voted present?

Promise kept!
And he might not be Speaker after January 3.
Donald is for Sale. They are eating each alive.

🤡 🤡🤡🤡🤡
I’m resigned to sit back and watch this shitshow.
The world functioned smoothly, and intelligent people made decisions for the government.
Then Trump cheated his way into office and installed dumb rapists, thieves, traitors, and cons. Everything went to shit.
THE END

MAGA: we need to increase the debt ceiling.
The time to object to spending is before you order dinner, not when you get the check.
