It's Trans Day of Visibility, so are you a trans gamedev? Reply with your games, and let's see if we can't get you some visibility? Please include a description of your game, introduce yourself if you feel comfortable doing so, and very importantly, a link to your game or work.

💌 Last Year’s Letters: tiny pixel trans joy game
🧛♀️ Inamorata: sapphic love VN about navigating ace/allo relationships.
🦌 Satan is an Astronaut: scifi horror VN.
I'm a vid producer in industry, used to make videos for Total Warhammer 3 then sadly got let go, but now I'm making cool vids for cool peeps! As well as streaming and making vids for myself, here's the latest if you're interested! It's a vid on Hardcoded! :) https://youtu.be/lcnYmJ_T5f0?si=3Iu0y4MikQPrseut
They pay me to make vids, not be smart.
Also happy TDOV! Also also, loving the Ivy Soulcalibur banner photo, she's the one character I could never get to grips with but she's still fun as hell!
Awhile back I wrote the script for this game about self-reflection, and working your way to an apology. I also did the soundtrack
My friend @brendanmcleod.com had the idea and did the design and everything else
Please check out and wishlist our game on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3592960/ZOOM/

I'm also assisting the Archipelago dev to add new features, & hope to get those added in officially at some point ^•^

so far all i really released about it is this written chapter that takes place before the main story on itch. it's free. I plan on learning the Unreal engine to see if i can convert this into game.

I miss making indie stuff though, I miss the mystery box, it was great fun, collaborative alternate controller project. One day I'll revive it.
I don't have a store page up yet but I also do some 3D character art that you can see on https://eyerissk.com
I do stream myself working on it over at https://twitch.tv/valkyriaVT
Thank you for this opportunity!!
Is this a sequal or spinoff?
I am so wishlisting this and hope this game is a great success.
i just released my very first game, Goblin Wrangler, a couple days ago. it's a "Vampire Survivors" style game where you shoot goblins in a desert/western setting, and it's ✨free✨
you can find it here: https://wintersouls.itch.io/goblin-wrangler
enjoy!
One is a silly, spooky cooking sim. It's still in development, but a game jam version is available. The other is a secret still but it features mostly trans (very cute) characters!!
The link is in my bio! I hope you enjoy it!!! 🙏

I currently only have one short, but fun game on my https://itch.io, called Stasis Shot, a simple puzzle platformer where you can set and delay your bullets to solve puzzles!
https://riaganroyalty.itch.io/stasis-shot
I don't have much footage of it but its coming along so well :3
https://bsky.app/profile/riaganroyalty.itch.io/post/3lknn5gdcus2b
It's definitely very choppy in terms of presentation but the gameplay holds up imo
Everyone else? Please help share the replies, comment on stuff that looks neat, and quoting helps a hell of a lot. Let's get some trans gamedevs some visibility for TDoV!
In dev: victorian vampire mystery romance https://crystalgameworks.com/otome-games/crimson-waves-on-the-emerald-sea-amaranthine-moon/
My most recent game is Kaiju Noir, a giant monster film noir visual novel with heavy trans domtext (subtext is for cowards)
An even less subtle sequel is on the way! 💜🦖
I made a collection containing my first decade of game development in one neat package called "Vladimere's Lhore".
Has dev commentary and a museum if you enjoy a peek behind the curtain.
(We're about to remake/port the entire thing to a new engine thanks to Valve stringing us along for years and then refusing to sign our release agreement, but it is what it is.)
Wishlisted and following for sure. Excited to watch this one develop!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2590330/Dino_Run_2/
ppl should play a good videogame or Universal Studios Theme Parks Adventure Adventure imo
https://iznaut.itch.io
but you need an idea that you really believe in, a game that you think would be fun to play, to pull u through the hard times & bugs
They let people new and experienced try out new things in a fun environment. They tend to make for some really fun communities too
Plus, you can truthfully say you studied at harvard :P

I do seriously recommend taking the course, it's free through EdX!

Do a game jam, easy commit, forget about graphics, use simple shapes and colors. Get the gameplay concept working.
Forget about perfect, you want something that runs.
2) Pick a rather user friendly engine to go with the scope.
4) Keep trying, even failed projects teach you something about the next one.
no
smaller
You can do it!
I recommend Godot a lot, they even have a tutorial in their documentation but there's plenty of third party tutorials for them as well.
If you're doing a tutorial, don't copy and paste their stuff. Type it out at least once by yourself and make sure that you understand WHY the software is working how it's working.
i have a degree in game design tho i was always more in the animation side of things, hope this helps
For most games, fun comes first. If you're going for narrative first, the gameplay should still flow the way you want it to- mostly smooth, friction only where you intend it. Fun helps with that.
Try to enjoy the process.
Consider starting with a board game you can easily mock up with stuff you have around. You can learn a lot of game design that's universally useful without learning a game engine.
Look at existing games you love, and articulate why you love them.
pick an engine
play around with it a bit, learn how to navigate its menus and functionality, then begin studying the primary language it uses to make games
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3018720/Websling/
I hope to start posting about it on here soon ❤️
It's adorable.
Definitely keeping an eye on that. =D
that I'm gonna work on again in the next weeks
https://another-gl.itch.io/rest-is-not-enough
but hey, there are a bunch of trans folks working in many different aspects of development on the team. so sure it’s one of the biggest games of all time but it’s also disproportionately a trans-made game. at least it is lately.
They even went back and changed my name in the credits, it made me cry at a going away party.
Fair few of the team is trans, with myself cracking out during the making of it. (not to mention the folks who came out as queer or furry too)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1886910/Mars_Vice/
(Also DM me for a code, been watching you and Diamanda for a decade, like heck youse paying on this)
It looks amazing
Always up for more queer furry goodness

I've DONE game design on some VR games, ShadowPoint, Battle Sister VR, then worked for years on Prison Architect 2 which might come out one day. We'll see.
I started in indie & currently run WitchGraft Ltd while working a contract & my own personal project. c: 🫶
In both cases the teams were massively talented. I'm happy to have contributed to both! c: I miss VR Dev!
Working with both those elements was a fun challenge for sure! Creating the puzzles & how to navigate items to their solutions was one of the most fun creative exercises I've had the pleasure of working on. c:
WitchGraft Ltd doesn't yet have a web presence so hassle me on here & we can set up contact if anyone has interest in Design Consultancy!
I do love talking people through design ideas, direction & thoughts and can also help prototype & document!
I've lead small design teams within larger studios, currently help lead a really small design team on this contract work & have done solo dev!
You can find all our cool games on my itch: https://tetraminose.itch.io/
Also here is the trailer of one our last gamejams we did <3

I'm trans but not a gamedev, just a steam games enjoyer and an enjoyer of the games you recommend
A couple days ago my profile got nuked on steam for having "gay" in it and steam support did nothing, would not explain and would not help. If you or your friends have any LGBT

Babe, you are a "proper" game dev, you released something, AND you contributed to other people releasing something.
Here's a Doom painting I did:
It’s a 3D shoot-em-up inspired by classic mecha anime. We also have several badass trans characters voiced by some talented trans VAs!

Our current game is called Squeakross: Home Squeak Home! You solve puzzles to win furniture, decorate your home and dress up your rodent friend!

Sunset Red is a game I made for my master's degree: focusing on trans representation and character identity.
It's a 2D puzzle platformer. All my thoughts are in docs on the page too. (I'm also looking for work)

It's called Slime Forest and it's trying to be a strategic take on games like Collapse with some of the flirty flavor of stuff like Shantae. Via slime women. Because reasons!

Hi I'm Rose!
A trans GameDev who made Goodnight Tea a few years ago!
It's a wholesome lgbt slice of life game about a small fairy who must help her polycule out so they can all get to bed 💤
It's marked as adult for mild kink & adult themes but there's nothing explicit

We're going to change things.
