I think this is something that @dangillmor.bsky.social has some documentation on. I know he's offered to help folks with the transition, but I don't know (hence the tagging) if he has a nice summary of the why.

Molly's post, like everything else she does, is excellent. May be a bit in the weeds for some folks, however.

I'm using Ghost + Outpost (the latter is an add-on to the former) and like them a great deal.

The one-pager is a good idea. I'll work on it with someone I know feels the same way.

I'm on WordPress for my primary writing project. It's definitely not the best platform, but it's usable for my needs (I know, such a glowing endorsement).
