1. I reach a lot of readers from a big variety of political backgrounds... and one of the most common points of contention I see centers around transgender sports bans.
In my latest story, I make the moderate case against such bans.

There's been a lot of studies, there isn't actually any impact or imbalance
It's literally just made up
Why can’t we just let kids be kids? Also why do we have to separate everything anyway? We all used to play soccer, kickball, etc. as one back
We do have a sort of semi-pro junior hockey league though, generally for ages 16 to 20, which is pretty big, but 5-10k audience big, not 50-100k like NCAA football.
Europe also has pro development leagues for youth but not sure how big
Also this seems like a very adults not being comfortable where kids are sitch. But that’s just me.
FTR: I’m not making a case for either side here. Just laying out some facts. Being a good journalist I’ll keep opinions to myself.
But also, and this needs to be very clear
Trans women do not have an advantage over cis women
My 5'4", 130-lb, slightly-built male friend doesn't stand a chance against my 5'11", 210-lb, muscle-bound female friend.
“We don’t want men in women’s spaces” but turned a blind eye to all the times men decided what women are allowed to do with their bodies/education/money.
2. Privacy
both very good things!
I listened, and helped him learn.
He disagreed with those bans!
Cis people are truly wild
This is not hyperbole, we literally have emails and documents planning this out starting in 2015, immediately after losing the gay marriage battle in the US
My friend, we already live in this world. Women over 6ft are <1% of the population and make up >50% of WNBA players.
None of these arguments are based on science or fact. They’re based on ignorance and intended to dehumanize trans people and prevent us from living our lives publicly.
If we could only get the word "nuance" back in our vocabulary... :-)
