I don't like Jest, but I have a pretty long, half-finished blog post lying around somewhere that is basically just praising them for having a video about their architecture, how its components fit together and why things are the way they are: https://jestjs.io/docs/architecture
The post's thesis was that every library, framework and software should come with similar overviews (preferably not (just) in video form), ideally at different levels of abstraction and with different intended audiences. Kind of like an atlas that has multiple maps of the same country.
