Masking should be mandatory in all healthcare settings. Hospitals and doctor’s offices are where most sick people congregate. It’s also the most likely place for more high risk people to be. You shouldn’t have to risk getting sicker or more disabled while trying to get treatment.

I live in a city with an 77.1% compliance for hand hygiene amongst physicians - ~85% across the board for health care providers.

So at that rate, we're looking at about the Pearl Harbor Day Centennial to make Require Respirators a universal healthcare standard.

Then I talked to a US ER MD and found that, yeah, most US ER's don't mask.
Others can do as they please. Even if they suck.
In crowded settings one person using a mask is all kinda irrelevant. It does not stop a disease from spreading.
Look, I do not support mask use now at all, but where I live we do not require it in health settings unless people have symptoms.
FWIW, many of our recent covid outbreaks have been caused by sick visitors who just don't think to stay away/mask up
(Standard surgical masks have to fit well to work, and only last whilst dry)
And also, more opportunities for virtual appointments, remote-check-ins, being able to wait outside the building in your car, alternative examination rooms... SO many better ways of doing things than what we have currently!
This means that people without visible signs of illness can still be infected so anyone can be sick , coughing or not . #wearamask #covidisnotover #measlesisairborne

I have to force my daughters to wear them.
We're failing basic mitigation education.
Just look at ICE. One person started wearing a mask. Now they all do it.
