my last thought on this is that i remember very clearly how republicans handled george w. bush, a world-historically terrible president who was the object of a mild cult of personality for nearly a decade — they just pretended like he didn't exist! and it worked!

Or Cheney, who's likely on his last mile as an 84-year-old heart transplant recipient.
There will be no Iraq War and Patriot Act if Al Gore wins the 2000 election, without a contentious Bush v. Gore ruling.
The biggest mistake he made was running for re-election.
Do you honestly prefer a govt where the President decides who gets prosecuted and who doesn’t?
Maybe you love authoritarianism. I don’t.
It's also gonna be hard given his legacy is effectively gone now that he lost. "Remember when I let Manchin starve kids!?"
Which is bullshit. Put this mess on the GOP's shoulders.
I actually do want an apology, I want him to self flagellate, I want him to say that who he was for like 40 years is wrong cause everyone knew.
The reason Republicans are this fascist is that Dems like Biden fought tooth and nail for literal DECADES to LET them be like this.
It's on his head for enabling them for so long.
There is a large and well financed machine behind him that he does not control but does answer to. Until you bust this up, it's going to keep coming back no matter who's president.
Cause it wants this country... Trump, is expendable.
Them blinders are getting awful big.✌🏻
But fads don't last (though their damage can) and I don't think MAGA will either.
I am hoping this is what happens soon. The "pretend it didn't happen" part, not the pilloring.
They think DJT is better for their interests than Hillary or Kamala.
Honestly best bet would be to run someone the press already likes lol
Senators will have a harder time, but I don't think any of them are well-positioned for 2028 anyway.
Spending his time sniping at Biden is an unwise choice. Smart candidates will sidestep.
Also, the Dems did what the press wanted! They're gonna lose their shit about a decision that was Biden's?
I'm not interested in any projection about why it's very important for Democrats to get their ducks in a row on this issue. (Not saying you're doing that.)
But any of this that isn't preamble to asking same questions about obviously checked out & deeply inattentive Trump is a joke.
But the shamelessness of GOP means the egregious failures/scandals of its pols make nary a blip.
Trump is going to make life in America so much shit that voters will soon remember old man Biden, and his shuffley marble-mouth, fondly in comparison. We’re gonna have so much nostalgia for him after a couple years it’s not even funny.
Next D can do similar thing but generational: enuf old men.
I'm currently doing work for a company in Michigan and my god the MI data from the 8 yrs of W are shockingly abysmal when compared to every other prez from the past 50 yrs.
Manufacturing is the largest component of MI GDP at 14%. MI lost mfg jobs every single year under W. MI lost almost HALF of its mfg jobs in his eight years.
And then came what? Oh yeah: They tanked the economy sitting on their hands watching the housing crash came down on the rest of us.
And the wealth flowed up again.
And we are still chained to Trickle Down Economics.
Fingers in ears
Eyes closed
“Go Away!”
“Go Away!”
“Go Away!”
Dems need more fight, not more right.
He and Don are in a tug o’ war to be the absolute worst US presidents ever!
“Wah Criminal” Dubyah’s still “ahead” as his surrender at The Hague is now long overdue.
Don though, is tuggin’ hard, as usual!
Sad.
MAGA!
Making America Ghastly Again
👊🇺🇸💀
We all say Biden should have done more to go after trump, but Obama not doing more to go after Bush/Cheney led to this just as much as that.
1- the Media essentially letting them
2- GWB completely removing himself from public view in a way that the Clintons never did
Maybe Biden does the second one, but that's only a small hedge on the first (as we are currently seeing)
