I get not wanting to give your address if you're a client receiving a digital product — that's totally fair, and I'm definitely not asking that from people who commission me.

Used it one last time for a financial transaction with a friend in Japan but immediately deleted my bank info.
I totally get that the business address thing sucks but it’s not a PayPal thing, it’s a legal requirement in any case (here in Germany).
It's all there- Address, phone number, email... disgusting.
Delete Paypal :)
1. Login on desktop
2. Click the gear in the top-right
3. Go to "Seller Tools" -> "Invoices" -> "Business Information"
4. Under "Contact Information", click "Hide from recipients"
5. MAKE SURE TO SAVE!
https://www.paypal.com/biz/profile
Press it and it should have a tab that says "Business information" and a few check boxes that will let you hide your information.
Don't know why paypal would make it so difficult to change privacy settings for sellers, but at least there's a workaround.
>Invoices
>>Settings
>>>Business Information
Hope this helps for people on mobile who don't have the same invoices tab.
(FYI: This is just informing Mac users on Safari that there are no hidden technical issues, not starting an iMac vs. PC/Safari vs. Chrome/other browsers online war.)
Account Settings -> Invoicing -> Invoice Templates (Update) -> Business Information
1. login
2. cog icon in top right next to "log out"
3. "seller tools" top tab
4. Under "Getting paid" header, click "Invoices"
5. "business information" side tab
6. under "contact information", make sure all three "Hide from recipients" checkboxes are checked
7. save changes button

Click "Pay and Get Paid" in to top bar of account page, then "Create an invoice." That takes you to the invoice page. From there you can click the Settings button to go to the settings page to hide your info.
Alternatively here's a link: /invoice/s/settings/business-info
How am I supposed to get around that without just not using PP? If I elect to hide my physical address, will they see just it anyway?
Really??
If in the app, if you can find a way to create an invoice, you might be able to go back to Invoices then find the settings from there.
Are you referring to the singular client receiving the invoice being able to see the address, or are you saying that Paypal will publish your full name and address somewhere else where anyone can get access?
Never, EVER link your PP to a checking account.
Get a deposit only savings in a SEPARATE local bank and link that, and never leave funds in your PP account.
Make them ASK you to refund anything, not just take it.
It's also worth taking a couple minutes to make sure your personal info isn't extremely accessible to anyone on the internet.
I've seen Stripe mentioned as a paypal alternative. If anyone knows any it's good to start listing them so more people can see

As a NSFW artist I'd love to get off of Paypal (and actively am coming up with ways to do so), but I understand why it's used.
It sucks because NSFW is an area where you care a lot about getting doxed.
I do know that a lot of commissioners like to pay me through Paypal invoice over anything else that I can offer them.
We really need an alternative.
But yeah the trick is to not say you're not doing NSFW. There's nothing we can do about the ban because it's the card companies, not the apps, so just don't say it. If you MUST do invoices, just say "scene art, full body, comic, etc"
It comes down to risk management - I'm fairly confident that Paypal is so incompetent that I can use it and if I'm careful I won't get banned. From what I've heard, trying that with Stripe/Kofi is riskier.
That's why u AUs i just confused it for BMAC. Though no one seems to like kofi anyway so
Unless there was like a week long trial or something.
But yeah. I main Cashapp but unfortunately that's US only from what ppl say so Stripe (or PP for those that don't want to leave it). I'm sure countries have more options & I'm willing to use them all instead of pp but ik not everyone feels the same.
I'm considering getting Cashapp since my mum has it, & she needs $ rn
I never did find the solution, but I hope you have better luck than I
Stripe, while likely a solid alternative, doesn't offer services in every country of the world just yet, the same is true for CashApp. A lot are stuck with Paypal if you're not US or western EU-based.
Stripe only seems to have a handful of places where it doesn't work, which ironically are similar to the list of places paypal limits/doesn't work in,though stripe does have a few more, notably LA being the main difference here.
Oh well
The fees are already significantly lower than PayPal.
€30 vs €10 fees for my last job.
Could you explain how someone can dox you by guessing your email and how it is actually related to this setting?
What this setting does is hiding your business info on the invoices you send and you might not want to
1/3
Because as a business, it is required by law in many countries to display the address and contact info on the invoice.
And it might be the same requirement if your country allows you to send an invoice as an individual (some don't, like here in France, you have to be registered)
2/3
3/3
I guess I'm going to unlink this account for now...
For those who are confused and can't find the setting heres what I did ⬇️
*Log in
*Go to the homepage
*Then go into ''Invoicing''
*Click on settings
*Scroll down and you should be able to find the options to ''hide from recipients''
Hope it helps 👍
❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
I moved my commissions to a third party website awhile ago, now I'm glad I did.
All the payments still go through paypal (until you get verified, then more options open up) but all the invoicing is done on VGen. Under their options, you can select what is put on the invoice and what is hidden.
