For the sake of clarity and transparency, I would like to point out that we use the instrument exclusively with FAIMS and clean the electrodes every time we change the LC buffer (approx. 3 weeks).
For the future, I wish myself another successful year with an incredible instrument.

The majority of ions that would coat and charge the quads are instead on the FAIMS electrodes, similar to TIMS.
Especially nice that FAIMS can be cleaned without venting the instrument!
We had to replace the tims cartridge on our Ultra because it was no longer clean even after 3 cleaning cycles. As the system has to be ventilated each time, the effort involved is much greater,…
Definitely not something that can be serviced without venting but I was unaware that only Bruker can clean the TIMS cell.
It is also important to clarify how often cleaning is included in the service contract. Even if the service contract is called "LabScape complete", not everything is always included. I would ask again and renegotiate, especially when buying a new instrument.
