That’s like @viscountjonkeer.bsky.social always trashing my starships or @fenrisgames.com making us name our ponies - the kind of GM cruelty that is always hilarious!
If they will do things like leaving them hobbled outside the dungeon when they knew it was stirge country, they really bring these things in themselves….
Random aerial encounter - red dragon. Breathed fire then flew off. High level PCs shrugged off the damage. DM pointed out our hippogriffs were all dead and we were now falling out of the sky…
Yeah, agreed. My players and I have built up that trust (which I love and work hard for.)
We tell the most amazing creative stories together. I could never predict some of their choices and it gives me warm fuzzies we get together weekly to share this space.
(As you see, I make my own rules....most because I have trouble following them and remembering them but it sounds so much cooler to throw a rebellious air on it.)
I just love laying out tough situations or looming threats for the creativity of the players to overcome. The fight I've run that was the most fun was fighting an invisible blind assassin in a locked room

but I would absolutely love to hear how my players would describe my style in 3 words. Anyone from the Society dare? @shelbykat.bsky.social perhaps?
So many leads
Väsen are scary
Not enough possessions.
Next session, when?
I'll have to think on this some more.
The urge for stirge
But their horses weren’t.
So what if a Lance does 2d12 whilst charging? Sleep!
Then I try to look past my screwed-up brain's impostor syndrome, and I guess they see something I don't.

Unexpected Eel!
Best part IMO was a player the assassin was holding hostage using their ability to control their shadow to communicate to other party members
Terrible accent time
Save or die
You'd think that
Sure, try it
Are you sure
And why not
