Alexis Scott-Windham was one of the people injured in the New Orleans attack by Shamsud-Din Jabbar on Bourbon Street.
He ran over and shot her in the foot.
Amazon denied her request for a leave of absence.
We don't hate Jeff Bezos enough.

This event happened two nights ago. The day after it happened was a holiday, so the first day this leave could be requested was yesterday, and it's already being reported as denied on the morning after that one day?

Are you accusing the Times-Picayune, a newspaper that has been around since 1837, of making up quotes about one of the richest and most legally backed corporations in the country?
TheTimes-Picayune should have followed up on this to get Amazon's side prior to running the story, but being first is now the primaiy tenet of journalism.
"We reached out for comment from Amazon" is not adequate.
Probably after it got out what they did
Andy Jassy runs Amazon now and he is the person responsible for the current decisions being made.
• Amazon initially denied her request
• Reviewed the case
• Has offered the employee paid time off
• Are welcoming her to return when able
This was handled relatively quickly, and not due to a negative PR campaign.
Time to learn that
No Employees Equals No Business.
