I wake up every Sunday morning at 6am central to bring you clips from the Sunday news shows. I’m a full time practicing attorney. I never ask for money from you guys. Just a follow. Love you. And God Bless America.
Do yourself a favor and sleep-in on Sunday morning and avoid the gaslighting and brainwashing tactics of the Sunday news shows. They only tell you what they want you to hear and apparently you only view what you want to see. Where does the critical thought and self-thinking play in your mind?
I'm sorry but nah, I've had some of the worst experiences with mental health workers and facilities in California.
Always talking about the homeless problem always talking about the marginalized but so many fall through the cracks.
Newsome actually has a vocabulary and ability to understand policy, compared to the POTUS-to-be who has never heard of a dictionary or the Constitution.
Sure. Or spreading misinformation about a hotline to report hate crimes- yes hate crimes, which are crimes, not mere “hate”- is a sign of being moronic itself. But have fun trying to live your life like this.
Oregon has sent help, and the people from Oregon are in LA now fighting fires while you fucking disrespect them and everyone else, you fucking ignorant lying sack
DonOld and MAGA pushing to Make this a Newsom negative, to take him out of 28 will regret how this Goes. A Massive Rebuild and Democrats will Deal with it.
Thanks Sara - I appreciate what you are doing! I'm very proud of my governor Newsom and VERY concerned about what the felon is planning to do to him/us.
Skilled workers have been in short supply for a couple decades. Hopefully the trades now understand just how important they are and love young people move into them. Mark Cuban is a big supporter of the trades, understanding their critical necessity.
Why can't democrats and liberals never be critical of the failures of their party and the officials they elected to office?
Newsom is a spectacular failure.
Signing an executive order after a disaster that was preventable is not great leadership.
minimizing a disaster is great leadership
Gavin Newsom showed up in person to evict a homeless encampment for publicity so he can fuck right off with that bullshit. Let those rich people live under the freeway now, and learn that it’s possible to make no mistakes and still end up homeless in this ponzi scheme of a society.
Mostly >$Ms hill-side wooden homes in fire prone zones, rebuilt from previous fires & mud slides only t/b rebuilt again. Ppl criticize, but it's the hills & trees ppl want & why houses cost so much & why insurance rates are high. They s/b made of concrete & brick. Ppl say take out the trees? Really?
I’m a fan of this, but it begs the question: If the red tape is able to be removed in emergencies, what is the point of it to begin with? Shouldn’t we want government to perform efficiently at all times, not just in a state of emergency?
I don't get the love for him just his complete failure of the homeless, crime and the turning of San Francisco into a shuttered cesspool outside of only the wealthiest of homes makes me want the Dems to start building the next President Obama yesterday and I wouldn't even want him as a running mate
@jacobsoboroff.bsky.social is the right person for this interview with @gavinnewsom.bsky.social .
Expedient--yes. I hope they do this with creativity to build back better. Repeat: My dream candidate for leading L.A. infrastructure rebuilding: Pete Buttigieg if he could be appointed and would agree.
I deeply appreciate and respect him. California is the size of a country, and if he can govern the largest GDP in the USA, he’s more than qualified to be the POTUS.
Not so sure about waiving building regulations in an area destroyed by wildfires. The regulations need to be improved. This is only the beginning of climate-driven fires.
The first executive order should be to ban all corporations and foreign investors from buying real estate like Hawaii and Arkansas🙄. Not entirely sure why she did that considering the citizens don't want to live there either😄. They're being held hostage!
A Great leader would have stopped this from happening. he's just another leftist reactionary who is about to ruin what's left of Los Angeles. He is actually trying to claim this is due to climate change and that's the official position of his govt. You can't fix stupid.
THus Finally admitting that half of the Building code is there to drive up the price of a new home. But you keep back stopping those clowns. It appears to suit you.
Yes he lead the march of climate change. Kept the rain away from the area with his deep state machinery. All his fault. Also I guess he was the one who drained the reservoir for repair, and also cut the LA firefighters budget? (He wasn't)
Incompetent DEI hires in LA, allowing recent record rainfalls to drain into the Pacific, constant focus on socialist agenda items, no new reservoirs over the past 7 years even though voters passed legislation. The buck's gotta stop somewhere.
How about the Republicans blocking any significant plan or spending for climate change infrastructure? DEI hires? Seriously? What are you, watching NewsMax? You're full of crap.
Yup! I am just thankful, if one can be thankful, for this sort of thing, that it happend under the Biden administration, and not the Convicted Felon's.
4 years of "drill baby drill" will only lead to more disastrous consequences.
The price of eggs means nothing when your kitchen stove has been destroyed by a hurricane, tornado, flood or fire.
The economy and climate are one in the same.
It's time for a climate conscious leader like Gov Newsome.
Bless his heart. What a tough job he’s got. Loved him when he was mayor of San Francisco during my time there. He could lead the whole country, he has the chops.
Let me get this straight...money has been found in a matter of days to rebuild for the rich? but there is never enough money for the homeless? Am I the only one to be disgusted?
I would advise you to read what I posted elsewhere. By the way a so-called progressive state shouldn't have homelessness...look at countries like Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden
California has a huge Republican presence. I've been to Houston and while stopped at a stoplight, 2 men doing drugs asked me what I was looking at. So many homeless. What is Miami doing?
Homelessness has a solution. People who want to do drugs on the streets is another issue.
5th, or it was. Also, 1st in the USA. My opinion is that they are spending money the wrong way on the problem but so are all the other states with the same issue.
Norway does 'housing first.' That actually fights homelessness.
I block them all too, don't need shitty on my feed. And I don't need to read takes on how things are being handled, here in CA, by assholes who don't understand or see firsthand how destructive these unprecedented winds have been. What counts is the community here has shown up for one another.
The Profiles I look at are Reposting many Other Tolls..... Generating and Building their Activity. I block them all but there is a Coordinated effort happening.
"A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Life should be long enough for you to hear criticism of the genuine life-destroying pain this man has caused to California’s homeless population. Hope is necessary but refusing to hold politicians accountable is how we got here
That’s funny I thought everyone left because of the AI Nazis, didn’t know we were building a place where no one can criticize the millionaire who saw his constituents starving on the street and decided to throw their tents into the garbage pile
This is exactly how we ended up with trump: there's always a reason to rise up in great and furious anger at the Dem who is imperfect in some way, and the imperfection is always the reason support is withheld, so the GOP candidate wins, which ends up being far worse
He always has been! I was a fan of Brown as well! No other state is as diverse, populated, and gone thru SO MANY acts of Nature! They have the economy of some countries! It takes leadership to handle so much! Being in such a high display position always has its critics.
However, hate is not helpful
This is what I call messaging. Be out with the media every hour showing what and where everything stands
Dems should also be running an ad about California politicians who left to meet maga in the middle of a fire 🔥
I’m hoping, nay expecting, for Biden to empty the coffers of FEMA to help California as his last act before leaving office. The felon in chief’s first act will be to find a way to funnel the money into his pockets anyway. Remember that he now can’t be held accountable for any crimes.
That is the bare minimum a liberal politician needs to be to get elected. Don't get bamboozled by showmanship. He defunded the fire department right before this wildfire. Its his fault.
Nope. The rich hate us, regardless of which team they pretend to be on.
He cut 100 million from the budget, and gave it to the cops. He was more worried about stopping looters and tormenting the homeless than protecting homes.
Did he do that, or did the state legislature hand him what they passed to sign? (Mind you…I believe police budgets should be cut!) And if he didn’t sign, what would the ramifications have been?
But I alsobhave watched every state (in provincial in Canada) gov cut their fire department budget then immediately get hit by wildfires repeatedly for the last 10 years.
So he PROBABLY could've imagined those ramifications. But good point, the gov of Cali is at fault.
In order to make that region fire-resistant, the mix of housing developments and wild spaces must be completely different. The Santa Anna winds do not care about "defensible spaces." These fires can outrun fire engines and jump I-5. The real estate industry will cram as many unit as possible.
Defensible spaces actually work even in the strongest of winds, but they never work on their own. You need to combine them with retrofit home hardening or in the case of new builds with fire-resistant construction, all established wildfire mitigation strategies.
Gavin also invited trump to come out and survey the damage. No response from Trump. Zero. Instead, Trump is posting his glee about our hardships in California.
Just remember that the felon-elect is a buffoon He's an internet troll writ large and if you ignore trolls, you take away their power. His words are a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Sometimes you get the government you deserve. The systems are wildly corrupt. Time for a global revolution of passive resistance, a new great leap forwards (sic).
It was generous of Newsom not to suggest that trump come to California and pick up a shovel. Trump’s never had a callous that wasn’t from a sh*tty golf club grip.
California has passed a set of laws that make it easier to override local zoning to expand housing capacity but, as of this date, the state government has largely failed at holding the most flagrant violators (SF, LA, etc) to account when it comes to expanding housing.
i don't see how one lawsuit under the new laws for 2700 units is proof that sufficient volume has been met under the current set of reforms. that's the point of my criticism.
There's issues on the developers end as well. The ROI on building for them just isn't competitive with what they'd get for doing so in the rest of the country. I read a good thread on here or on reddit that made valid points about this that I'm having a hard time locating right now
Remember that huge fire caused by neglect from a private power company? Remember how he let them off the hook financially and then didn't do anything and another power line started one of the fires this year. He sucks
This is my first time to Bluesky, and I must say- it's quite possibly the most hateful, one-sided, confirmation bias viper pit I've ever seen. I'll get along great with you savage beasts for sure!
Cutting all the BS (red tape) and watching for price gouging for building materials is a great idea. Another note; crack down on any price gouging related to landlords and new renters.
We were able to move quickly on Maui after the Lahaina fire (thanks to Federal aid) however, we are now deep in a conversation about how to rebuild. Rebuilding in fire prone locations doesnʻt seem like a smart plan unless they are built to be extremely fire-resistant.
Gavin Neesom hates homeless people. He will only rebuild for homeowners. Anybody who rented is SOL because of the 800% rent hikes. Anybody who became homeless before the fire will be forgotten completely. And I can’t find my friend who lives in a kids playhouse in an encampment in LA.
My only hope here is that construction companies and contractors don’t do shoddy work. I know that they have to pass inspection etc etc. I just know human nature can be ugly at times.
The question is: Will L.A. rise again to burn again? For we lit the firestorm by providing the tinder. We must act now for Life on Earth and Climate. Listen to the science. For Life on Earth plse see 'n' sign: https://petitions.worldmagnacarta.co.uk
The politicization of this horrific event from the GOP has been nothing short of despicable. Newsom continues to handle the situation with class and leadership. Exactly what LA needs.
Yes, the hundreds of thousands of suddenly-homeless people of LA need... *checks notes* ...the guy who destroyed the possessions of homeless people for a photo op.
Sadly, there is a vast population of Americans in those states who simply did not vote.
The shame is on them and they will bear the consequences of their failure to fulfill their civic duty.

But the housing and the houseless area, no. He's a disaster

only in CA would this plastic thing with no values be considered a great leader

The economy and climate are one in the same.
It's time for a climate conscious leader like Gov Newsome.
He proposed using the state surplus to subsidize diesel.
He ignores ebikes.
He waited till the last minute to do the bare minimum to support transit.
He is no climate hero, he is three cars in a trenchcoat.
He is not perfect, who is?
He is the best chance the planet has right now.
He need allies not so much critics right now (in case you're not paying attention to right wing media).
Be safe Cali! 🙏🏼

Horrible visual.

Remembered, and then discarded, as California gives far more $ than it takes vis a vis the federal government.
But still Presidential. We won’t need that word after 1.21 for a while.
No more mud slinging let’s just have plans and actions
All he did was his job.
The fan will then be covered in excrement.
The shame is on them and they will bear the consequences of their failure to fulfill their civic duty.
