I made it at the weekend (saw your post). It was so good. My first time eating anchovies (I always viewed them as hairy worms). Did you use that drink whose name I've forgotten? I used dry white wine instead. Maybe went a bit heavy on the chillies but I like that.

I did use vermouth! But dry white is prob even nicer. Vermouth is handy to have for cooking as it doesn’t spoil v quickly once opened. I was generous with the chilli too…

Yes, toasted. Just a couple of strips laid across a slice so you get a bit in every mouthful. Def open the wine if you have.
